Pre-ordered! And the best part about that isn't the fact that I'm going to get the game on release, but I finally get to use this gif!

The one gripe I have before playing this game is that battle mode stages are recycled racing stages. Battle mode was always a fun distraction if I had a few minutes to spare, peaking with Mario Kart DS. Hopefully Nintendo restores its unique identity in future installments.

This small complaint aside, my body is ready for this game.

From what I can see, that's the only real gripe with the game, and I agree. I loved the original battle arenas, and even though edited tracks could be interesting, they don't seem too different from the actual courses.
Still so hype though. The next 2 weeks can't pass by soon enough. Hopefully I'll be able to spend my birthday screaming at the tv!

As much as I love Mario Kart 8, I do have to admit that is the only complaint I have with the game. I do love the return of classic battle mode style of only having a certain amount of balloons and if you lose them then you are out, but using the racetracks as the area to battle or survive against the other players was a mistake. That's the great thing that I loved whenever I go and play Battle Mode, the unique and custom arenas made to battle against your fellow racers. I will still play Battle Mode from time to time as I play Mario Kart 8, but not as much as I did with Mario Kart Wii.

In other news, Nintendo has decided to join in on the fun and make their very own reel that they made using Mario Kart TV!

Speaking of Battle Mode, it appears that Coin Battle will not be an option to play as in the game as there has not been any confirmation of its return whether by official sources or reviews. I'm somewhat indifferent about this because although not many people play Coin Battle, it is sad seeing it be cut out from the game nonetheless.

acording to Digital foundry. MK8 is 720P native, runs at 60-59 FPS, and when in 4 player mode it drops to 30 FPS... and people are going crazy because of this and some are calling it "a last gen crap game"...
I think this is the core problem with the game industry. people nit picking over Graphics other then story, game mechanics and originality. Dont get me wrong, grapics are important but if i want to go watch something visually Impressive, then ill go watch a movie. A game is noting if im Bored of it. and from what i see i will not be bored with MK8.

Sadly, I hear that all the time when it comes to Mario Kart's resolutions and frame rates. Honestly I don't mind that Mario Kart 8 is on 720P because we have the huge amount of details and little touches within the game. As for the dropping down to 30 FPS when playing Multiplayer, I believe it makes sense as I don't want the game to lag out, plus the game still looks very gorgeous even with this frame drop and still moves fluidly from what I have seen in the Multiplayer section of the game.

Whatever happened to games being good just because they are fun. I don't need fancy graphics or amazing framerates for the game to be top notch. Mario Kart 8 is going to be great no matter what in my opinion. I know I'll enjoy it and love seeing old tracks return. That's all I need with this game. And Toad, because I'm the best. At least in my family, I am in no way challenging anyone on ZD to a race. I'll lose before that race even begins.

It seems Bandai Namco and Nintendo are getting close to each other as the days pass by. The Ending Credits have been leaked onto YouTube and new information has been revealed. That's right if you take a look at the Ending Credits, Nintendo has inserted Bandai Namco's name onto their list of credits. That's really impressive that Bandai Namco is assisting Sakurai and his staff to create Super Smash Bros. 4, but they even helped out in creating the most beautiful Wii U game to date? Incredible!!!!!!!!

It's odd, considering that in Super Mario Cartoons, Mario mentioned Mercedes cars at some point. That's foreshadowing if I ever saw one.

Got it. It's better than MKW, but I'm still kinda disappointed.

12 people is way too many people. If anything, it should have been lowered to 6 ages ago.

Coins should not be items.

The blue shell can be blocked, but the item to get it is rare and you seldom get it when you're in first. Remove the damn shell.

The battle mode is better than MKW's but still awful. When is Nintendo going to take the hint and realize we don't want a freaking timer?

Yea the coin item is total BS. it cost me a few races becuse i could not block the red shell when i needed to. plus you cant horde wepons, so yea that messes with my stragity. my last complaint is what they did to the N64 rainbow rd. but ive already had enough things to say on that subject. but so far i am enjoying the game
