PART I: THE GRAIN OF SAND IS NOT EASILY REMOVED

There the loud sound of explosions all over Gerudo Town, beams from Nabooris where hailing red beams down on the town, as its new Lord commanded it. The Gerudo took up arms, arrows of fire let fly in a shower among the Great Behmoth, though none found purchase against the metal. In the chaos a woman of exquite beauty wraps her child in swaddling clothes, and puts the babe in a basket. Another of ladies armed with Trident forged in fine gold and green shouts, "My Lady Rava! We must escape! Ganon's Wrath is upon us!"

Placing her turqouise veil in the basket she spoke in the Gerudo tongue and then fetched her Sand Seal. She drew close to the beast with its mighty big tusks, "Waf my old friend.. you must bear us across a sea of sand." She mounted, the Gerudo Guard handing her the basket with the babe. "I will come with you My Lady.." Rava shook her head, her long fire like hair rustling as the many tapestries in the town did when wind blew strong as it did now. "I am afraid we shall only have the Eight Heroines to protect us."
The Guard shed a tear as Rava reached down to her, "You have been a faithful friend Makeela Nika. I pray that one day we will meet in paradise."

With those words Rava urged the Sand Seal to move, and it began to run out of the town, and into the dunes. Towering above Nabooris as titan of steel rained its fire on the town, and entering the Eastern Gate was a figure of great menance, his skin was green as palms, and his hair as flames, he dispatched guards with the wave of his hand, magic at his command. Moblins poured into the city wrecking the wood booths, and the doors of the many stone houses. Their clubs beat the wood and pots of the Sand People like drums of doom. Ganon found Nika standing against a Moblin, she thrusted her trident into its neck, and turned to face The Sorceror.
"Where is the child?" asked the Demon King.

Nika was levitated into the air and into his hand which clenched.
"He is beyond your reach."

Turning his eye to the West, he saw on the dunes a shadow of Seal making haste, casting her aside, he called forth his Boko who were on Hog mounts.
"Bring the child to me.. kill the woman."

The Bokoblins rode off in prusuit, there on the sands Waf surfed, keeping pace ahead of them, as Rava looked back and saw there were coming further and futher from the desert to the threshold of the Hyrule. The Boko were bold, they moved despite their bad mounts for the terrain with a hunger that drove them. Rava came to the treeline of refuge, she began to chant, the grains fo sand below her shaking when she leapt off, Waf pausing,
"Take him my friend.. take my Son to the Deku Tree.. let him become Lost till the time comes.."

Waf pressed on as Rava stood with a scrimitar in hand, she began to chant, the sands whipping up in sheets that swirled in circles. The Boko came to this Sand Storm that began to form, and then they were swept with Her in it and carried away back into the Desert.
The Sand Seal made his way across the grass, his body arching with its thick fat up and down as his tail whipped up. He came to a thick and dark part of the forest, where mist began to obscure all. There he took the Child that was slung on his tusks to a place of forgetting.

Exhausted the Sand Seal collapsed, the child began to cry, and it nustled the basket with its cheek when suddenly surrounding it was little figures with orbs of light, blues, yellows, and purples that had wings. The child was brought to a mighty Tree that had mustache of moss, and eyebrows of the same, and two hollowed out eyes. The basket was placed before The Great Deku who commanded a root to rise up and remove the top of the basket, and lift the babe in swaddling cloth up gently. The children with their fairies watched, Deku removed enough cloth for the hand of the child to be seen which reached to touch his mustache as he drew it up.
"My Children.. behold your brother."

The Children as one shouted, "Hello Bro!"
With that the Child was taken in among the Kokiri, lost to the world tell the time come that he reveal himself.

The Sand Storm abated, and there was no sign of Boko, nor Rava. It was believed they perished in the storm, though with no bodies, it was impossible to confirm. Ganon grew in might, making the Gerudo submit to his rule as King. He then planned his next design, to sieze Hyrule and all the lands stretching to the sea. His thirst for dominance was instatiable, his magic unconquerable.. for now...

Seventeen Years Later...

The Deku Tree's mossThe had grown darker around his brows, and the Kokiri as ever remained childlike. All save one, who was now being called by a girl with hair as green as ivy,
"Link! We need some help!"

A tall young man, well tall by the standards of the Kokiri, came running in his evergreen tunic, his long flowing blond hair sparkling when the sun broke through the branches of the trees. Link came upon a scene in which one of the Boys was tangled in a vine upside down, hanging from a oak. The Hero scaled the tree in one leap, and climbed up to where the Boy hung,
"No! It will break! Stay away you freak!"

Link reached out with his hand, and took knife and cut the vine, the boy screamed, "Aaaah! You idiot!" Link grabbing another vine leapt into the air, sparks of the sprites flowed around him as he closed the distance to the lad, and with one sweeping motion of his body he caught the fussing Kokiri, and tugged on the vine just before they hit the ground, their leather brown boots alone touching it as he released the rope of greenery. The Boy shouted, "I could have gotten hurt! You big idiot!"
Sarai taking a large leaf like lotus smacked the Boy in the face, who said, "Hey! Sarai! What was that for?!"
She gave the Boy a stern look, "Say thank you to Link! He got you out of that tree!" The Kokiri sighed, and said to The Hero,
"Thanks, I guess.."

Link merely smiled back, nothing that the Lost Boys said bothered him. He knew early on that he was out of place, growing taller than all of them.
"Do not mention it Oliver. Sarai, if you have no more need of me, I must see The Deku."
Sarai approached him and he did his obligatory bow, and she kissed his cheek.
"As always you do without any thought for yourself Link, see you later."

The Hero made his way in dense forest to a clearing crown in trees, with one Great One in the middle who had mossy mustache and hollowed out eyes, his mouth moving.
"Link.. at last you have come of age and the time has come to tell you what you need to know."

Before The Deku was a circle of boulders, placed there by the Kokiri to sit on. Link took a seat and poised his pointed ears. When the Deku had something to say, he made sure to pay close attention, he had become a surrogate father to the Blond Young Man.

Deku continued,
"As you has suspected for some years now, you are not a Kokiri, at least not by blood. I do consider you one my sons, adopted into our Tree, and never forget that a place will always be here for you and as long as my roots grow deep, I will be your Father."

Link nodded.

The Great Deku went on,
"The time has come to tell you the truth. Listen well, for it is a long tale. Seventeen years anon, you came upon our realm by the behest of your mother who was fleeing the Dark Lord of the Desert. Her name was Rava, and she had come to me prior to her calamity, when she was rent asunder from you as a babe. I promised if need came, I would hide you among out children. You may ask why must you be hidden? The truth Link is that you are the rightful heir to the Gerudo Throne, you are the Son of One Hundred Years that the women of your tribe await. The Dark Lord Ganondorf in his sorcery usurped your place, taking control of Nabooris, a machine of ancient power, and took what should have been yours. More than that he seperated you from your parents. Your Mother, Rava, yes that was her name, was Gerudo, alas like all of her people she had to seek a life mate outside the Gerudo, and it was your Father, Chaine, a Hylian Knight, whom she loved and by who's seed you came into this world. You are thus a Son of Two Peoples, The Desert and The Hylian. However, there is more.. that I cannot tell you, that you must learn from The Desert about who you truly are. Know this my Son, that if you embark on the road before you, there will be great upheavel, already the Darkness is spreading and to take your place you will have to confront it directly.. I cannot prepare you anymore than I have these seventeen years. You must seek training from your two homes, though one is harsh and there lurks your foe..."

Link took a deep breath, there was so much to mull over and yet when he looked up to The Great Deku he said,
"You will always be my Father. No matter where adventure takes me, you are Tree of my Life, and I will never forget you or my brothers and sisters."

The Great Deku shed a tear of sap, and said,
"Link.. your heart, its purity, will lead you towards the right path. May Farore hearten you, and may you find the Wisdom of Nayru, and the strength to wrestle with Din when the time comes."

Link when to the trunk of The Great Deku, and held her arms around the bark in an embrace, as tears fell from his own eyes, the sap fell upon his forehead like annointing oil. He took it and smeared his forehead in the shape of Spirit Stone of the Kokiri.

The Knight Errant made his way to his little house in an oak in the center of Kokiri Village, he gathered a sack and began to pack. When he heard the voice of Sarai,
"So its true, you are leaving.."

Link turned and looked at the glum girl, she was always full of cheer and it pained him that she was now sorrowful.
"Yes.. though I shall return, I promise.."
Sarai interrupted,
"Do not make a promise, when you are not sure if you can keep it.. I want you to take this."

She handed him a smooth yellow ocarina, with a green painted holes. Link held it in his hands and then looked at her and said,
"Such a precious gift.. I do not know what to say."

Sarai forced a laugh,
"That is normal for you, the quiet one. I use to think it was because you were insecure, now I know its you choose your words carefully and when you do speak, it has more gravity, like that which pulls the leaves from our blessed trees."

Sarai then stepped up on a root like bed leg and kissed Link's cheek as he instinctively knelt a little. This was goodbye. From there The Hero made his way to threshold of Kokiri Forest, ready to brave the Wild. Sarai began to wave, as did some of the Kokiri, Oliver crossed his arms and said, "good riddance! hmpf!"
Link looked back at them, and felt his eyes well up, when he heard a voice,
"Do not look back my Son, your path lay before you..."
With that Link taking a walking stick of finest Deku Wood began his trek into The Wild...

PART II: THE WILD

The Wild beyond The Forest was not as The Hero expected. While there was still lush forest and fields. There was encampments of strange creatures who resembled boars, who upon seeing him rang a loud belly and let fly arrows. Link took cover in the treeline near one such encampment. He was fortstalled by these Goblins who now paced the area searching for signs of him. Link broke off a branch from a nearby tree, and waited. One of the intrepid Boko was drawing neigh to a small fire the Hero had set to draw them out. The Creature made a loud roar that almost sounded as a horn upon seeing the campfire, it lunged on to the sight, when Link struck it across the head with his branch, knocking it over, he then took with both hands the stave and beat the creature once more before taking a club with thorns embedded in the rounded top. He searched its satchel at its waist, and found some raw meat that he discarded, and a key, perhaps to a chest.

The Son of Chaine made his way with the mace in hand towards the Boko Camp, the makeshift tower of wood that one of them stood on with its horn ready to blast, caught sight of him and blew it. The Hero made haste towards its base as the Raider to a bow and let fly some arrows. Link dropped below its sight as it fired, and inched around to the back ladder, where it fired down from its stoop. The Hero took a piece of wood that acted as part of fortifications and scaled upward, arrows sinking into it as he climbed the ladder. He pushed with the poorly constructed shield, making the Boko trip and hang, dropping its bow. Link then raising the mace dropped it into its head and it fell. No sooner had he felled this archer then three of his kind coming with spear and axe, Link decided to keep the high ground, as one thrusted its spear up the hole where ladder was, he blocked with the poor shield, which was now splintering. A second Bokoblin went to where its fallen kin was, and took its spear poised to throw, Link was being beset from both sides, and he had to make a choice or perish.

Taking the wood panel, The Hero guided the spear as it thrust, and pushed it against the gap and wood, snapping it, and he hit the Boko in the head with his Mace, a crown of spikes for a moment adorning its head before he drew it out and engaged the swordsmen, who swung a curved shaped black iron blade, that Link caught with the wood, it splintered till it broke in half and now he had to defend with only his crude mace, he parried the vicious swordsman when the other Spearoblin came rushing around ready to impale him. The Hero decided to use this momentum against the sword wielder, at the right moment he rolled to the side and the spear went into the swordsman, skewering him. Link rose up from the patch of grass and made haste to assail this foe before it could recover and do the same to him, it turned and jabbed the long wood shaft of spear into his chest, knocking him back before then lunging at The Hero, who barely caught it with his Mace using both hands, on on bottom pommel and the other on the top.

The Beastly being's forearm strength was hard to resist, and Link decided to roll once more towards where Swordsman had been felled. As the Spearoblin knocked his mace aside, The Son of Chaine drew the cutlass and began to swing it in flurry of cuts hat pressed the Creature back, he saw that success was closing the distance, for the spear won at a distance. This fight was taking its toll, he felt his brow was wet, and his heart beating rapidly as the hoof of horses on rock. The Last Boko desperate for victory charged as it let out a roar, hoping this would make The Hero recoil, instead he recalled what Father Deku said, and he stood his ground, the spear bore at him and He met it with the flat of his blade and spun it around to cut down on the neck of his foe, making the Boko fall down in whimper.

Black blood stained the field, and the fort was no vacant and quiet. Link had gathered the arrows that still had heads and bow, slinging the black quiver on his back, and placing the them inside it. He made a belt from the leather straps of his enemies, and placed the cutlass through it. There was a chest buried not far from the tower, and in it Link found diamond shaped crystals of green, red, and blue, which he would later learn served as currency. The Hero had survived his first skirmish with the Wild Ones and he was certain it would not be the last on this journey to the Land of Hyrule...

PART III: THE SHADOW

The Hero made his way deeper into the Platau and came across many Boko encampment. Aiming his bow, he saw not one, not two, but dozens, and a Fort that was as scaffolding at a cave. Upon banners of red was two great horns, and in middle an eye. Link made his way to the mouth of the cave taking his cutlass, and inching along the rocky wall towards the entrance, a tower with Boko, one had a scope. It turned around and standing there was The Son of Chaine who swept his blade across its neck and then helped it fall quietly. One

PART IV: HIP HIP HYLIA!

The Land of Hyrule was astir, The Castle Grounds was full of men at arms dressed in thick plate of silver and adored with mantels of white with a red Triforce and wings. As they marched with spears in hand, one of them raised his gauntlet clade fist and said,
"March with purpose! March with fortitude! Hip Hip!"

The Men gave answer in one voice,
"Hip Hip Hylia! Hip Hip Hylia!"

The Entire Castle was a sea of soldiers in formation and the Captain with his long flowing brown hair showing the recruits how to guard and attack. Hay bells made into practice posts were being struck by these Hyrule Warriors, each moved as one with the silvery spear points at the command of their Captain,
"Wisdom watches over us! It enfolds us! Every action must be calculated, swift, and to ensure victory! Hesitate and you open your brother at arms to peril! Do you understand?!"

The Men all said in resounding voice,
"Yes Captain Antilus! Hip Hip Hylia!"

Upon this scene, The Hero arrived into the Castle Grounds from The Wild. His evergreen tunic was at variance with the uniforms of these Hylian Soldiers, and his Boko Weapons were appeared as poor instruments to the Great Blades that many of these disicplined men had slung on their backs or were wielding in combat against one another. Antilus saw Link and sighed, he approached the Young Man and said,
"This is a training session for soldiers, that means only men at arms!"

The Hero bowed his head and said,
"Captain, I have come to enlist."

Antilus looking over the former Kokiri, said,
"What does a shaggy, unfit, and blue eyed and bushie tailed boy like you think you can volunteer for my core?!"
Link looking into the eyes of The Captain said,
"I have traveled The Wild and seen the enemy sir, I have crossed blades with them, and want to do my part to defend the helpless from the raiders."

Antilus circled the Young Man, and stroked his beard,
"How old are you son?"

Link replied,
"Seventeen sir!"

The Captain squinted at him and came back to The Hero's front.
"You look a good deal younger.. sigh.. alright, you have three weeks. Prove yourself in the gauntlet after that and I will give you a post, if not then you take your goldie locks back to where you came from. You got that?!"

Link raised his chest up and said,
"Sir yes sir!"

Walking up to his pointy ears, Antilus said,
"Then get in formation Recruit!"
The Hero got in formation with the other soldiers, grabbing a spear from wood rack and not stumbling, he made his every step synch with theirs and Antilus eyed him, "Well he knows how to walk.." After a moment The Captain said,
"Alright, that is enough for today! Head to barracks and get some rest, tomorrow we begin the hard stuff."

The Son of Chaine took his place in this band of brothers, in the barracks he was bunked with freckled face guy with red hair, and flute that he played.
"Hi, my name is Roland."
The Hero took his hand and shook it saying, "Mine is Link."
Another Soldier took at seat next to them in a nearby bunk and said,
"I heard there was another attack on the Farmlands. Those Boko burned Lon Lon Ranch to the ground."
Link turned and said,
"They are vicious.."
Roland sat up and said,
"You have seen one?"
Link nodded,
"I have tilted with them, they fight with a ferocity that is.. unnatural."
The Third Hylian Trainee got up and drew closer,
"Is it true they let out a horrid roar in combat? That it can still the soul?"
The Hero nodded,
"It takes great resolve to resist the urge to retreat."

There was laugh, as one of the Bunk Mates with long flowing white hair, and runic like tatoo of red near his left eyes said,
"Listen to you.. you are boys not men, drinking in stories when you have no idea what evil lurks in the world."

Roland pointed his head towards the White Haired One and said,
"That is Alshabah. He is Sheikah."

Alsha drew himself up and said,
"When the hounds of war come, you wee young lads will not be swapping tales, you will be splintered to the bone, and your hearts riven with woe that you alone defend these lands."

Link piped up,
"There is good in this world.. my Father helped me see it. He taught me there is always light even in deepest shadow."

Alsha scoffed,
"Sentimentality.. that will be ruin of us all. The King and his Princess are drawn by every whim, investing thier time in archaeological digs as the storm rises in the Desert.. Ganondorf.."

A cold wind blew through window as those words were spoken.

Roland covered his arms with his hands and said,
"We know what we are fighting for Alshabah, we just are not all stones like you."

Some of the other soldiers chuckled.
Link grew quiet at the mention of that name, one The Great Deku said had taken everything from him, his throne, his family.
Alsha looked into his eyes with his own made of blood,
"You understand do you not.. I see it in your face, you know of whom I speak and now you grow still.. do not underestimate the Desert Power, to do so will be to this kingdom's undoing."

The Shiekah drew closer and spoke in whisper that none could hear, a whisper in the mind,
"I will keep my eye on you.. I sense it.. the scent of the sand is upon you."

Meanwhile in the palace, a Young Woman in blue with short blond hair was examining a book and pouring over texts on a table with a lamp. She was looking into runic languages of The Ancients, upon one book was an eye riddled in stone like tuquiose and words Zonai. She was busy at study when he door opened and rotunda shaped man with long white hair and beard stepped in with gilded crown.

"Ah, hard at study are you my daughter." said The King.

The Princess turned and came to embrace her Father as she took a text and held it up,
"Father! I have found in these archives a bredth of knowledge that could be the key to the stones we are finding in the digs!"

The Father took a seat on a stool and said,
"My dearest Zelda, you have your Mother's curosity and her tenacity, I have no doubt you will solve the puzzle of the Stones."

She turned and smiled as she came to sit on his rather big knee,
"The Zonainic language is fascinating! They seemed to communicate through these patterns, and when light shines on them they convey.."

She carried on and he listened, not undestanding much of what she had found. That did not matter. The King was content to hear how Nayru had stirred her mind to assimilate all this knowledge. For him, his mind was occupied by a looming threat, a Shadow upon the Sands that was beginning to cross into Wild near his Kingdom. As he looked at his lively Daughter, He hoped that she would come to know a time of peace, that she could study to her heart's content all the mysteries of this world, that she would not hear the horn of war in Hyrule. Alas the Shiekah Scouts had returned, and seen the army of Boko that was forming in the Wilds. War was coming, and there was nothing He could do but fill the Castle Grounds with defenders who would help keep Hyrule safe, that would keep Zelda safe...

PART VI: ITS MOBLIN TIME!

Link was sprinting with his regiment in the Hylian Field, Captain Antilus shouted,
"Pick up the pace! Your enemy will not wait! They are faster and never tire. You must become more than Hylian!"
They came to the treeline that lead to The Wild, there Link thought about his time in there, and how perlious it had been. He had seen The Shadow and his fold, that Antilus was sound to be this tough on them, to hone them as blades in the fire.

As they came to the edge of the Forest, an arrow flew, and it struck a recruit in the neck, he fell, as he gagged. Antilus shouted,
"Men form up!"
They drew their issued Hylian Shields from their back and made a wall. Antilus dashed towards the injured one and saw that he was beyond hope.
"Men! Arm yourselves!"
The Soldiers of Hyrule drew their Hylia Blessed Steel and began to inch towards the tree line, Antilus now rising behind them as he drew a spear and said,
"Volvagia formation!"
The Hylian Regiment formed into a V shape and Antilus seeing movement in the brush threw his spear, he heard a loud snort and cry like that of swine. The Warriors made a wall of their metal shields as Antilus said,
"Link, you are going to be my wing, come on!"
The Hero joined his side with shield and sword ready,
"The rest of you stay here and if anything comes your way, do not hesitate, cut it down!"

The Captain and his New Recruit stepped behind the first columns of trees, he saw tracks, and some dirt that was disturbed. Antilus held a bow ready with a drawn arrow while Link covered his flank, acting a living shield.
"This is why I tell you to be vigiliant. The enemy looks for the distracted to pick off."
Link nodded his caped head and said,
"Yes, Sir."

There was a snort, followed by another and Antilus drew lower to the ground.
"Its a kill box.. Link, whatever you do, do not stay still, movement is life."

Suddenly a Boar like figure came out of the brush with a great pike like two horns squeeling.
"Moblin!" It swung at them and Link lifted his shield to intercept, stopping it from cutting Antilus but throwing him aside. The Captain let fly an arrow at back of its head as it passed, and Link rose quickly to be his cover so that he could reload.
"Stay alert! There may be more about!"
Link heard movement, a Bokoblin came charging with club from behind a tree, and Link lifted his sword to meet it. He he edge shave off wood, and he swung at the creature as he he drew his shield to guard Antilus' back. The Moblin had recovered, and was ready to charge once more, it let out a roar as it charged like a boar, its single horn going before. Antilus let fly another blue feather arrow into its chest and this did not take it down. Link slashed as the Boko and moved around as Antilus said,
"We need to draw it to the Wall.. come on!"

The Captain dashed as cudgel with two horns passed over head and smote ground, sending a great cloud of dirt and dust into the air, Link ran beneath the Moblin as he dove and cut at its hind as he passed under. It let out a shriek as he then rose up quickly and went to treeline where Antilus was now behind the wall.
"Link! Bring him to me!"

The Hero paused as Moblin which was not mad with rage came barreling after, some Boko were following. Link made a sprint for the tree line, where as he came to wall of Hylian Shields, two turned to let him pass through, and then swords rose up as spikes for the Moblin that now was on top of them. It growled as broke the line int is gallop, and several young recruit were thrown. It picked up one and smashed him to the ground. Roland steeling himself thrusted the blade into its thigh, and it turned with a fist and beat him off with one downward throb. Antilus taking another spear threw it into the Beast, it letting out Boar roar as it then targeting him ran towards the Captain. It threw its weight behind a fist, and Link leapt in front with his shield, there was sound of bones cracking and Link was pushed in the soft soil back as he tried to lock his boots in the ground, he skidded as Moblin pushed him. Antilus watching as he drew his sword and said,
"Men of Hylia! As one!"

The Shields broke from wall formatiom into a circle and took their swords and began like teeth to dig into Moblin that cried out in pain. It had focused on Link who was being the bait, and now its body was being a meat sheath for their blades. Unable to escape, the Moblin fell on the grave of steel, and regiment drew back as it collapsed. The Boko who had come to treeline now made a cry of sorrow and began to retreat, their courage fell as the Moblin fell. There was cheers all around as they raised their swords shouting,
"Hip! Hip! Hylia!"

Antilus gave a proud smile and said,
"Now you are bunch of Goblin killing bad arses! Hi-yah!"
They all cheered,
"Hi-yah!"
Then the Captian came to Link and said,
"Private.. you are now a Corperal. Welcome to the core! As for the rest of this regiment, consider this your gauntlet! You are part of Hylian Army now!"

They all cheered. Link smiled, each of the soldiers including placed their hands on him to honor his elevation. Antilus turned back to the tress and his face grew somber. His great fear was confirmed this day, and while this regiment was ready, they would need many more brave souls to stop the tide that was forming in the Forest.
