As Djinn mentioned, Zelda games rarely re-use these deities, so in a way it's pretty unlikely. However, The Wind Waker did feature several of them again, although that was because it was so directly connected to Ocarina of Time. Skyward Sword could easily be too, so maybe. At any rate, Jabu-Jabu has the most appearances of all the deities at least that I can think of. He appears in Ocarina of Time, Oracle of Ages, and The Wind Waker (as Jabun).
If Skyward Sword deals with the formation of Hyrule as we know it, and I believe it does, Jabu-Jabu making an appearance of some kind is very possible. I would love to at least see a reference to him, if not an appearance. I don't want him to be a dungeon again though... that would be completely unoriginal.

I don't see how the developers need to say something to prove the existence of something that it seems like they were trying to say within the game. Why was Jabun so similar to Jabu-Jabu if he was not the same? This is especially weird if you compare him to the Deku Tree, as he was the patron deity of the Kokiri as Jabu-Jabu was for the Zora. Additionally it's like saying the Koroks are not the Kokiri or the Rito are not the Zora, even though they're similar. They ARE the Kokiri and the Zora, and it's pretty obvious that they intended Jabun to be Jabu-Jabu. Nothing in Ocarina of Time every said he wasn't intelligent (it wouldn't even make sense for a deity to be stupid anyway), and his inability to speak is pretty accurately conveyed in TWW, where he can only speak in Hylian. As for size, character designs shift between games all the time. It's nothing new.jabu-jabu, although similar, are not the same thing. None of the devolpers have ever said anyhting to suggest this and they are completely diffrent in size, and intellect.
Huh? Master Quest isn't even a canonical entry in the series. It's just Ocarina of Time's story with harder dungeons. What happens in Ocarina of Time to imply that he loses any of his power? No. He lost his power after MQ. I will eat mah green hat if he comes back.
I don't. I don't think any of the familiar characters in the Oracle games are the same as those of other games. It wouldn't make much sense overall, and it seemed very much like they were implementing them for familiarity and/or fanservice. I don't see much reason to think they're the same.Do people generally accept that these (OoA/OoT Jabu-Jabus) are the same? (jw. never thought about it)
