What if Hyrule was invaded by the Aurum from Kid Icarus Uprising?

Then because Hyrule has no angel that can fly into space to defeat them, the goddesses would tell the Hylians to live deep underground forever so the Aurum can be destroyed by a meteor shower or something, and then a millennium later, the above surface becomes a legend, like Gurren Lagann or a reverse Skyward Sword.
