i dont know if theres such thing as undercharging in commissions

cuz honestly, its a humility thing and it could be just the relationship they have with the work. getting to work on it might be part of the payment for them

as long as both the artist and person paying are satisfied with the exchange in the end

That does make sense, but what I meant was that they could be charging a lot more if they wanted to. They don't open comms very much so it's probably just for fun for the most part

yeah i think the thing about it is that people who put out lower quality work could charge more than someone else and that makes one question like how inconsistent the pricing is

though i guess its also up to the person selecting an artist to commission what they deem of an artists' work's quality and if they agree with the price

my sister made someone uncomfortable when she took an art request and didnt accept payment cuz they were just... used to that sort of thing being made in exchange for the art

she settled for being paid in a pack of sharpies since she used sharpies for her art. she sent them the artwork, they sent her sharpies
