in the skyward sword trailers there is a old man with big eye brows like Kaepora Gaebora's. I think he is also, like the school teacher or something. and since this game leads up to the events of ocarina of time. it is hypothesized that Kaepora Gaebora is the re-encarnation of this man. what do you think please feel free to theorize :fairy:

Lots of people believe he is Rauru or some form of him, and they think Rauru may be the owl too xD
I'm not entirely sure, I'm thinking he's maybe the ancestor of Rauru, but I won't know until the game releases right?

I think the Kaepora Gaebora-thing is more plausible than the Rauru-thing.
First of all, I don't think Rauru's that old, and second, the guy just looks more like Keabora Gaepora.
Not to mention Keabora Gaebora is said to be a reïncarnation of an ancient sage (so it's impossible he's Rauru, as Rauru's not dead), and he's a bird,
which fits well with the Skyloft bird-theme.

Rauru was an ancient sage that never had a predecessor. Therefore, when he died, his soul was trapped in the Sacred Realm. He still lives there, but, like Ganondorf, that is his prison. It looks like Rauru, exceepyt for one thinfg: the man sems to be Zelda's father. Therefore, Kaepora Gaebora may be the ancient Sage of Time if this man truly is one of the two... and I believe it more likely the Old Owl than the Old Man of OoT.

Well, Rauru was in the Chamber of Sages, so it's kind of hard for a reincarnation to occur if you're not dead. Even if he did die and that was his spirit, it's still his spirit in the Chamber of Sages, meaning it wouldn't be in Keapora Gaebora. I really don't see how KG can be a reincarnation of Rauru. It doesn't make any logical sense. Imo, KG had a previous form that was an owl and was a Sage.

Forgive me, please, but I like to argue for both sides: I have also heard a theory that states that Kaepora Gaebora may be part of Rauru's soul not connected to the Sacred Realm. An extension of sorts. That would be a reason for them to be the same, as well as look and act the same.

I wouldn't say KG acts anything like Rauru. Rauru's all business, while KG has that "lighthearted" attitude. He's very wise, but also very friendly, whereas Rauru just...well, talks very much like a wise old man would.

Rauru and KB don't look especially alike. KB doesn't look more like Rauru than any other man.
Also, as said before, Rauru is not dead. Obviously. So he can't be reincarnated, and there is no such thing as a partial reincarnation, which may be what Dekunut
means.
I think the mustachio-man in Skyloft is KB, simply because they look alike (look at the crazy round eyes and eyebrows) and he's a bird, which fits the Skyloft-bird theme.

Who's to say "the mustachio-man" isn't Rauru? (Wait, what about him being a bird? ???)

KB is a bird, and it would fit well with Skyloft's bird-theme for the mustachio-man to reincarnate into a bird, an owl in this case.
And I just think he looks more like KB than Rauru, not to mention we haven't had any reason to believe that Rauru is centuries old.

No reason to believe he's centuries old? "We ancient Sages built the Temple of Time..." Ancient Sages. I don't know about you, but I consider the term "ancient" to mean very old. This is the reason I think he will be Rauru and five other Sages will be in the game, activate the complete transformation from the Skyward Sword to the Master Sword, and build the Temple of Time at the end of the game.

I knew you would bring this up -_-'
There's different ways to interpret this. He could literally be talking about 'ancient' sages, as the first sages, and that would indeed mean he's very old.
He could also be talking about the 'Ancient Sages', another name for the Sages as a group, so he would not necessarily be talking about himself,
but the Ancient Sages as the group.
So you're right, there is reason to believe he's that old, but it depends on how you interpret it.

The term "we" refers to oneself and others. There's no other way to interpret that accurately. I mean, if you were to say, "We went to the movies a week ago," but you weren't referring to yourself when saying it, that wouldn't make any sense. Same thing with this.
