Title says it all. In general, what kind of music do you like to listen to?

I listen to mostly Alternative Metal (Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Three Days Grace, etc.) and Alternative and Hard Rock (Seether, Linkin Park, Tool, Rise Against, etc.). So in other words, heavy rock, but not ridiculously heavy (like death metal or screamo).
A few good examples of what I listen to:

I'm quite an awkward person. I love to listen to video game music or music that isn't in English. This "rock" among other things confuses me quite a lot.
Most music I listen to is instrumental or orchestrated. Or both mostly.

I mostly listen to Vidoe Game Music. More specific is LoZ

Apart from it's usually Christian and all its varieties. Steven Curtis Chapmen is my Fav artist

Some Classic Rock like stuff our 40-50 parents grew up listening to. Lynrd Skynrd and Steve Miller Band are my Fav Bands.

I post my Fav songs by each if any1 really cares to know.

I'm the only person I know who likes at or appreciates at least one band out of every sub-genre of metal (mostly into black metal though), while still being able to say my favorite genre is rap.

Just some examples of my taste:

I don't really have a fixed music taste. It really differs depending on my mood/current obsession.

Though, I will say that I do love more uncommon music, which could be classed under pop, but if you want an example, Jonathan Coulton's songs are very to my taste.

Video game music, ska, and (sometimes) classical mix in with my ever varying taste.

I love anything that has to do with rock. I really don't prefer screamo stuff, but the darker the guitar style, the better. These are the bands I like listening to: Skillet, Flyleaf, Breaking Benjamin, Crush 40 (their Sonic stuff is amazing), Family Force 5 (more pop than rock, but it sounds close enough), 30 Seconds to Mars, and Alter Bridge.

I also am a huge video game junkie. I collect any franchise music I can that sounds intriguing to me. These are among my favorites: Zelda, Sonic, SSBB, F-Zero, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Halo (actually has some pretty good tracks), Mario, Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, and Spyro.

And finally two alternative rock bands that continue to blow me away: Hawk Nelson and Relient K.

My dream job is to make music for video games; as such, a lot of what I list to are video game soundtracks. :P

I'm also a huge fan of OCremix. Other than that, I mostly listen to dubstep, jazz, and instrumental music.

I tend to like calmer songs more than anything else. Though it really depends on the current mood. I like songs that have meaning or a soft melody. But occassionally I just listen to extremely loud and dramatic music. Or fast music.

But if I'd have to mention some genres I guess: alternative, rock, classical, instrumental, occassionally disco (especially 70s, dunno), video game music... Basically I do not care about the genre - if the song's good, it's good. It's ridiculous to start building any kind of identity around a genre of music and then refusing to even try anything new.

Lately I've been listening Thrice (Alchemy Index especially), Woodkid (loving Baltimore's Fireflies), Daughtry and Imelda May.

I listen to three "groups" mainly, those are: Queen, John Williams and Koji Kondo.
