The only problem I have with the idea a fourth segment is formed when the other 3 are brought together is that we have seen a game when the other three are together and they moved enough to prevent the void from being static. We know from ALttP and maybe ALBW that the Triforce doesn't just sit there in its default configuration, but the pieces are in constant motion.
