So how would this song fit into the plot of a Zelda game? What sort of context and what part would you see this fitting in said plot?

Saria would meet Link again after he leaves the forest.

On second thought, there's a train on the cover, so shove it into Spirit Tracks.

"We'll meet again" when OoT Link leaves Lon Lon ranch for the last time as a kid, then for the last time seven years in the future. Alternatively, at the end of Majora's Mask, or the end of Wind Waker when Link leaves Outset to travel with Tetra's crew.
"Maybe" I think perhaps Saria saying good bye to link? I'm less sure on that one.
