General Zelda I Had a Dream About the Art Style of the Wii U Zelda

Okay, I had a dream that the art style Nintendo created for the new Zelda for the Wii U is actually 8-bit.


What I remember is it's basically Zelda 2 except in 3D. The walls, characters and pretty much everything is textured like Zelda AoL.

Now, I don't know about you, but as much as I love 8-bit style graphics, I think playing an 8-bit style game in a 3D setting like the 3D Zelda games where every character is blocky and weird, is terrifying. I woke up relieved that it was just a dream(or nightmare?).

What do you guys think? Would you like a graphical style like that for a Zelda game or not?

8-bit graphics on Nintendo's first HD system? Hell no, boss.

If it were like WiiWare or something then yeah, go ahead. But this is an HD-capable system. No need to waste effort on 8-bit graphics when we are SO FAR AHEAD of those days.

Sounds interesting, but not what I'd like to see for Zelda U. It sounds like it would be a waste of the Wii U's power. Though, I would like to see some experimentation with this format somewhere down the road.

Oh my... I won't lie, I would probably cry if Zelda WiiU looked like that. "What a waste of the WiiU's HD capabilities!" I'd cry.

In all seriousness, going 8-bit would be the absolute last art style in the universe I think Nintendo would go with. Not because it's bad, but because Nintendo will probably want to show of what the WiiU can do with one of their leading franchises.

3D Dot Game Heros, One of the best PS3 games out there, even though it is simply a Zelda clone, especially considering they have a Link Pallet online for the character creation!

Haha, it's a real 3D First Person AoL fan game . It requires the Unity Web player if you actually wanna play it though(both are free) .

*screams and faints* Heck no! What a incredible waste of the Wii U's capabilities! That would be terrible for Nintendo. They would literally have to be stupid to do that cause that would be so much lost revenue. Who's gonna want to spend a heck load of money on a game for Wii U that looks like that? Now were they to release a 3D AoL like the one above revamped slightly, sure I'd buy it, but don't waste the WiiU Zelda on graphics like that. I'd probably get the game anyway though lol!

Now that I think about, it does, but I dunno, Minecraft always looked more 16-bit rather than 8-bit to me.

Some important nintendo person (can't remember if it was miyamoto or aunoma) said that Skyward sword's art style is now going to be the baseline for the next games to come, and I'm not going to object to that. I loved Skyward sword's art style and I don't get why so many people were hating on it.

I got lucky at a place called Cashland, its a payday loan place, but with all the dope heads in my town its a pawn shop now....sad really, but hey, those dope heads will sell this shiz for a fix, then i get to buy their stuff for DIRT CHEAP! Thank you Junkies! LOL

Anyways i only payed $10 for 3D Dot Game Heros when i found it!
