Twilight Princess Hyrule Castle Town Similarities...

Is it just me or does Hyrule Castle Town in TP resemble St. Peter's Square in Rome?

The two areas look almost identical (HCT lacks an obelisk, though).

a little but there aren't areas in the east or west and we can't see the southern area

I don't think Nintendo purposely made Castle Town like St. Peter's Square. The design featured in St. Peter's Square is very popular, especially after the Ancient Rome period. Rome invented many things so the similarities between Castle Town and St Pete's Sq. is no big deal. In the Middle Ages you would find places like Town Square's that look very similar to Pete's Square. Since the Zelda series took place sometime within the Middle Ages, I would assume Nintendo made Castle town this way because they wanted it to be realistic, as Twilight Princess is often referred to as being a realistic Zelda game.
