Hylian Shield and Red Loftwing

I would think so its red, it has the same anotamy (by that i mean wing size etc.) of a Loftwing, but what im curious about is that the Hylian shield dates back to when in 1998 OoT came out, would Nintendo have planned to add a predeccesor game with a flock of birds, or was the Loftwings in SS simply put to explain the bird on the shield??

And also hylian shield is not the only shield to feature similer red birds or just birds, such as, heroes shield MM, heroes shield WW, ALTTP

I agree with pretty much everything

Hylia gave the shield to Lanayru to give to Link, which has his red Loftwing on it - indicating it was intended for Link to own. Hylian knights then used the shield in a kind of tribute to the first Hero, which is how Link gets it in OoT - He buys it as it is not uncommon in Hyrule.
