HINTS for Second Quest

[Whydah]

My roommate and I have been playing the 2nd quest on Legend of Zelda for literally days. Absolutely no sign of level 6, 7 or 8. I found the entrance to level 9, which makes me wonder how hard the others can be. Still, I am absolutely stuck.

Looking for HINTS (i.e. not a link to gamefaqs) as to where to find the entrance to these dungeons. Items I have are: magical boomerang, raft, bow with wood arrow, power bracelet, blue flame, and magic whistle. (That's right, no ladder )

Playing the whistle does absolutely nothing. For one thing it takes me to where the dungeons are in the 1st quest. Secondly, I can't progress further than that because one of the lakes will dry up when you play the whistle.

Please, if you have played this, give some tactful HINTS. And thank you for NO SPOILERS.

I'v been playing that second quest lately and it's not that hard if you REALLy WANT help, here is the overworld, the items are in front of dungeon entrances and hear containers are in this map too. no dungeon charts included in it. say if u want them too : http://lazorsoftware.com/games/maps/engel_zeldasecond10.gif

Almost forgot, the ladder is in the dungeon 4

Re: Second Quest hints

I had a friend show me a map a few weeks ago, but I seem to have lost it. I am currently roaming the map for the two dungeons I am missing. I will give you two hints:
1) There are tons and tons of bombable walls in second quest, most of which have shops/games or medicine inside.
2) There are many places you can play the flute to open a dungeon. Try using the flute everywhere on the map.
