Because that has the month before the day and that is just *wrong*

Look, ISO means everyone wins.

Europeans win because it follows a logical progression (big-middle-small) instead of jumping around randomly, even if it's the opposite of their normal system.

Americans win because they get to keep month before day, so they aren't confused, with the added bonus that things are now in an order that makes sense.

People who work with data win because it's automatically sorted by date with a normal alphabetical sort.

Asia wins because this is the system they largely use.
