Fitting MC-FS-FSA into the timeline during the Imprisoning war.

I'm not expert and may have overlooked a million major/minor things but this is sort of a way to show how MC-FS-FSA could be fit into the Imprisoning war/Ocarina of Time events.

Assumptions
The only assumptions important to note is that the Twilight Realm and Dark/Sacred Realm are two different places. And the Dark mirror, while used to create Links in the Light/Normal World, was also like magic mirror from ALttP, though applied to the Twilight Realm, not the Dark Realm. Obviously Ganondorf would not have known about its transportation power from Twilight realm to the Light realm because it does not transport you from the Light realm to the Twilight Realm, but only from the Twilight Realm to the Light Realm. So Ganondorf would not have discovered this power UNTIL he was in the Twilight Realm.

Ocarina of Time - Link is sent back in time and proceeds to tell Zelda and the King about Ganondorf's evil. Ganondorf had obtained the Trident and Dark Mirror at this point already, as told about in FSA. The trident gives him power in OoT to follow Link into Sacred realm and obtain Triforce. This same sequence of events happen but this time the Ancient Sages use it as a trap. They wait for Ganondorf to emerge from the Sacred realm, having already touched the Triforce. He kills one of the sages but they send him into the Twilight realm using the Mirror of Twilight.

Minish Cap - Vaati appears and begins to wreak havoc in Hyrule. Young Link, already friends with Princess Zelda, stops him, not with master sword, because it is the seal on the sacred realm which Link doesn't want to open again. So he needs the Four Sword.

Four Swords - Occurs shortly after Minish cap and it is still within the seven year period.

Majora's Mask -Looks for Navi while everything in Hyrule seems fine.

Four Swords Adventure - Ganondorf had let himself out the Twilight Realm using the Dark Mirror almost as soon as he had been put in it, though he did meet Zant while there. He wanted Zelda's "lightforce" or triforce of wisdom for himself, because he need all three pieces, so he let Vaati try to obtain that unwittingly. He thought that if he reappeared himself he would be sealed by the Ancient Sages wihtout his Dark Mirror leaving no escape. He is eventually found out and defeated and sealed in the Dark/Sacred realm, not the twilight realm, by the power of the four Sword. The adult ending of Ocarina of Time never occurs obviously because Link changed the past. Link does remember it however because the events did happen and stayed within his memory. He passes this legend along with the rest of the story. Perhaps Zelda did not send him back in time to change the events until he had defeated Ganondorf because 1. She was hiding as Sheik and could not use her real power in that form 2. Was captured the moment she revealed herself.

Twilight Princess - Ancient sages scene shown is the young Link capture story. Zant met Ganondorf when Ganondorf was first sent into the Twilight Realm. Beginning the whole Twili revolution/Zant event thing to start. When Link draws the Master Sword to save him from his wolf form, he unwittingly opens the door to the Sacred realm/Dark realm where Ganondorf had been trapped by the power of the Four Sword. Perhaps sealed in Dark Realm again leading up to Link to the Past.

So Basically the timeline would look like

OoT game version - OoT changed version - Minish Cap - Four Swords - Majora's Mask - Four Swords Adventure - TP and so on.

[I've moved this post to its own thread since the other was more about beta FSA intent and this one seems to be its own theory including several other games and didn't directly address the other]

Wow, this is a very interesting way of putting this all together. It fits quite a bit better than I had expected.
For my own sake, I'm going to construct a more detailed timeline out of this so I can pinpoint any errors. (comments are indented)

  • Ganondorf enters the forbidden pyramid and takes the Trident of Power; also gets Dark Mirror.
  • Ganondorf tricks Link into opening the Door of Time so he can enter the Sacred Realm and take the Triforce.
    • Gerudo hate Ganondorf in FSA, love him in OoT. How can the King trust him if he broke the laws of his own people?
  • The [Ancient] Sages trap him, he kills one, they send him to the Twilight Realm.
  • Ganondorf meets Zant and makes an agreement.
  • Vaati appears, tries to take Light Force (explains Zelda's prophetic power in OoT).
  • Link forges the PB into the FS and seals Vaati in it.
  • Vaati breaks out very quickly, Link uses the FS to seal him again.
    • Both FS and FSA's backstories create a large gap between MC and FS, and imply both games feature different Links.
  • Link goes to Termina and returns.
  • Ganon uses the Dark Mirror to escape the Twilight Realm and summon Dark Links to trick Link into releasing Vaati
    • I don't think the Ancient Sages overestimated their abilities so much that they locked away a prisoner with the key.
    • The Shrine Maidens descended from the Ancient Sages.
  • Ganon uses Vaati to try to steal the Light Force/ToW
    • I don't remember if Vaati ever stated his goals (I think he just wanted power, and Ganon did as well), but I'm pretty sure he never mentions the Triforce or Light Force. (But this can be debated in the other thread.)
  • Link (the same one from the previous games?) defeats Ganon, who is sealed in the FS and the SR.
  • Time passes (new Link?)
  • Zant escapes from the TR using Ganondorf's magic
  • Link draws the MS, releasing Ganon from the SR.
  • Link kills Zant and Ganondorf
  • Ganon is sealed in the SR
    • he's dead
  • LttP

Okay, so the big issue through all of this is Ganon/dorf. He unnecessarily jumps around between being different people, different forms, and sealed in different places. FSA-Ganondorf is a lot different from OoT-Ganondorf. He somehow goes from being trusted by no one to being trusted by almost the entire Gerudo tribe as well as the King of Hyrule. Also, the Gerudo and Zuna in FSA act as if Ganon acquired the Trident of Power only recently, just before the game started.
Then, through the known process, he is sealed in the TR and meets Zant. When he escapes the TR, he already has Zant under his control; there's no need for Vaati. You're also counting on the Ancient Sages to have omitted everything between his first being sealed in the TR and escaping in TP. Ganon seems naïve in FSA. He mentions nothing about the Light Force or Triforce (could be a result of the tea table inversion) and only childishly seeks power and destruction, still differing from what you see in OoT and TP. I like how you suggested that pulling the MS in TP released Ganondorf from the SR, but there's no reason within TP itself to believe that he was in there in the first place. Again, this would have been part of the Ancient Sages' tale.

Being that I never played FSA, though I own it, I was basing much of what I what I wrote on what I read on wiki's and such. As far as the time between MC and FS, yeah I see that. So it could go MC right into MM and then years later FS and FSA obviously. As far as the Gerudo hating Ganondorf in FSA and loving him in OoT, possibly Koume and Kotake brainwashed them all? As for the sages overestimating Ganondorf, it seems that they underestimated him in the TP cutscene, because he did after all kill one of them which obviously wasn't part of the plan. I think that cut scene shows they tried to kill Ganondorf outright but wound up sealing him in the TR.
Now I don't remember Zant's whole story exactly I think I remember him leading a revolution or something in the TR, so perhaps he was busy at the time and Ganondorf decided to use an unwitting Vaati, who appeared and turned evil of his own volition. Ganondorf just saw an evil guy and was like "I can achieve my goals through him". He then was sealed in the Sacred/Dark realm by the four sword/maidens in FSA. (I'm not sure what other theories there are regarding what happens to Ganondorf at the end of FSA). This seal is kind of like a back door to the SR. Obviously you still have the MS as the "front" entrance to the SR.

And I just think Ganondorf isn't dead at the end of TP, for no particular reason. I don't see any thing that proves either way.

And why the Sages tale didn't include every detail may be because it would make for an extremely long story. Why didn't they give the whole story of Hyrule from day 1 to the present? They could have just been telling Link what he needed to know, and/or not wanting him to feel guilty for releasing this horribly evil Ganondorf yet again. They were just telling him the story of the Mirror of Twilight since that was what Link/Midna/Zelda/Sages were all looking for at the time to do with Zant. And I think when they told him the story Link/Sages didn't even know Ganondorf was back again. They thought it was a fight against the Twili and Zant. So anymore information about Ganondorf would be irrelevant. Maybe they should have thrown in the story of Majora's Mask to their tale for good measure. :p

Perhaps also the Gerudo who opposed Ganondorf disappeared along with the Zuna. By disappeared I mean both groups joined/left together heading to some other part of the world.

I don't mean to keep going on, but this theory is closely tied with Axle the Beast's Dark Tribe article, which was amazing. I think it would explain alot of things.

Two random proofs pop into my mind for some of what I've said.
1. Malon and Kaepora Gaebora are in Minish Cap. Which could mean it is during the time of OoT. Though Malon appears in other games I think this one's character in MC matches closely to the character in OoT. And Although Owl's appear in other games as well, the MC one is specifically called Kaepora Gaebora again.
2. In Twilight Princess the Dark Tribe/Interlopers? is represented by Dark/Shadow Links, which is exactly what Ganon attacks Link with in FSA. He also could have used these Dark Links, created by the Dark Mirror, along with the Gerudo and w/e other people he had under his control when he fought with the Sages/King of Hyrule/Knights of Hyrule before/during/after his entrance into the Sacred realm.

Perhaps the Dark Interlopers who fought in the Hyrulean Civil War used the Dark Mirror to make Dark Links based off the Skyward Sword Link. The reason why the interlopers are represented by Dark Links.
Maybe that's something we'll see in SS.

There's no Kaepora Gaebora in TMC. There is one in FSA. But in your Theory this game takes place a long time after OoT. And there is also a Malon in FSA and in OoS. Just because they all have the same name and look alike, that doesn't mean they are all the same person but they could be related. Another problem is: Link has a gradfather in TMC. If its the same Link as in OoT why would had Links mother left Link in care of the Deku-Tree and not her father/her husbands father???
