Slipknot - Vermilion:

I get nervous, perverse, when I see her it's worse
But the stress is astounding

Slipknot - Vermilion Part 2:

She is everything to me,
The unrequited dream,
The song that no one sings,
The unattainable.
She's a myth that I have to believe in,
All I need to make it real is one more reason.

"Pain in Vain." and "True perfection is imperfection." are two quotes of my own that I rather like...but as far as other ones go, well, open the spoiler in my signature to see some of them.

I frequently update my signature with a quote that I am particularly enamored of, the current one being a memento of my favorite character in any medium. If we are going to restrict the discussion to quotes alone, I think my favorite quotation comes from a song, "Eulogy", by Frank Turner:

"I haven't always been a perfect person,
And I haven't done what Mum and Dad had dreamed,
But on the day I die, I'll say: 'At least I ****ing tried!'
And that's the only eulogy I need."

If we're going to talk written work as a whole, well then the answer is divided between prose and poetry. My favorite poem is T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land, a chillingly beautiful epic that is dense and layered on an insane level. My favorite work of prose is easily Mark Z. Danielewksi's House of Leaves, a postmodern novel that is equal parts horror story, romance, and academic film criticism. Yeah. It's nuts, and I love every page of it.

I have way too much to choose from, so here's a (shortened) list:

-Jim Gaffigan on BACON. Everything this man about its majestic sizzling goodness is true. It is so freaking funny - you have to look it up. I would post the YouTube video, but I can't get on YouTube here...

-Pretty much everything Han Solo says in Episodes IV and V (Who's scruffy lookin'? Laugh it up, fuzzball). A lot of what Vader, Obi-Wan, and Leia say is awesome too. And don't forget "It's a trap!"

-A TON of the stuff Frodo, Gollum, Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Boromir, Theoden, Pippin, and Sam say in the LotR movies/books. For example, Aragorn's speech at the Black Gate (I don't think that's in the book, but it's awesome), Theoden's "Death!" battlecry, and the whole "You shall not pass!" bit.

-Ganondorf's "Darkness has been moved by light, it seems... How amusing."

-All of Monty Python's Spam sketch, the Fruit Defense sketch, and the Holy Grail.

-"Never was so much owed by so many to so few." -Winston Churchill. He's got a couple other good ones, like his "fight on the beaches" speech.

-"How far, how fast, how long." -Switchfoot, Amy's Song.

But here's one that tops them all: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me." -Galatians 2:20

There are quite a few that I have become enamored with over the years:

The quote on my signature (From the game Fragile Dreams): "I want to leave proof here that I existed in the world. So, if there's anybody listening to this, please remember me. Remember that I was alive".
All the current quotes in the spoiler tag (from the TV show Queer As Folk).
The poem "The Stolen Child" by W.B Yeats:
http://www.theotherpages.org/poems/yeats01.html said:
WHERE dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
There lies a leafy island
Where flapping herons wake
The drowsy water rats;
There we've hid our faery vats,
Full of berrys
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And anxious in its sleep.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scare could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

Away with us he's going,
The solemn-eyed:
He'll hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hillside
Or the kettle on the hob
Sing peace into his breast,
Or see the brown mice bob
Round and round the oatmeal chest.
For he comes, the human child,
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than he can understand.

Quote:

"It will be all the same a hundred years hence..." - Unknown

This quote conveys the message that it is futile to trouble oneself over insignificant matters, as they will all mean nothing in a hundred years time when we're all dead and forgotten.

Lyrics (CONTAINS SWEARING):

Eminem-Airplanes said:
Alright let's pretend Marshall Mathers never picked up a pen
Let's pretend things would have been no different
(Pretend he procrastinated, had no motivation
Pretend he just made excuses that were so paper thin they could blow away with the wind Marshall, you're never gonna make it makes no sense to play the game there ain't no way that you'll win
Pretend he just stayed outside all day and played with his friends
Pretend he even had a friend to say was his friend
And it wasn't time to move and schools weren't changing again
He wasn't socially awkward and just strange as a kid
)
He had a father and his mother wasn't crazy as ****
And he never dreamed he could rip stadiums and just lazy as ****
**** a talent show in a gymnasium, *****, you won't amount to **** quit daydreaming kid
( You need to get your cranium checked you thinking like an alien and just ain't realistic
Now pretend they ain't just make him angry with this ****
And there was no one he could even aim when he's pissed it
)
And his alarm went off to wake him but he didn't make it to the Rap Olympics Slept through his plane and he missed it
He's gon' have a hard time explaining to Hailie and Lainie these food stamps and this WIC ****
( Cause he never risked **** he hoped and he wished it but it didn't fall in his lap so he ain't even here)
He pretends that

Eminem is one of the few rap artists I'll actually listen to. However, I'd not have known of him if it weren't for my brother, who worships the guy. I'm glad he introduced me to this song.

Raise your weapon, raise your weapon and it's over.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - False Pretense said:
It's funny to me how you've turned into such a joke-
In sacrifice, false pretense you're letting go.
Stop pretending, don't deny.
False pretense, you're letting go.

Lol idk song lyrics are so meaningful.
