wouldn't you like to know, weather boy
I like a massive variety of music so it's pretty hard to choose right now, but I've narrowed it down to 3.

The first one is the Arkells, which a lot of you probably haven't heard because they're a relatively small Canadian band but I love their music because most of it is really upbeat and just really entertaining to listen to. Indie rock is probably my favorite genre. I heard one of their songs on the radio and had the whole album downloaded the next day :P

Number two is Muse, who I've liked for a long time. Their sound has changed the odd time but I think they just keep getting better and better, and I love their new album.(Check it out, srs.) My favorite Muse song is probably this one, though.

My third is one I actually discovered about a week ago while lurking around tumblr and listening to audio posts, and they're the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. I really like instrumental music and they have this really cool sound and I just have them on repeat all the time. This song is just the best, and their other stuff is really good too.

somewhere.
my current favorite musician's are the members of andrew jackson jihad, they don't sugarcoat their lyrics and they write songs about political and personal problems that are currently going on.

didn't build that
If by "artist" you mean individual singer or instrumentalist, that's a no-brainer for me. It has to be Neal Morse.

He is a Christian progressive rock/metal multi-instrumentalist. For anyone who would dismiss him for wearing the "Christian" label, I dare you to listen to one of the above two songs in full and maintain that view. His music burns with emotion and creativity, is consistent in sound, but that sound is widely varied, and even his lyrics generally (though not always) avoid the vapidity associated with... well, most music nowadays, Christian or otherwise. The themes dig deeper than you might expect and ask surprising theological questions at times. Acclaimed instrumentalists, like Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings, Kerry Livgren of Kansas, Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater, and Steve Hackett of Genesis have lent their talents to his albums. More importantly, former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy is on every album, and Portnoy infuses the songs with energy they might not otherwise have had.

Put more simply, I just love how this music sounds. No doubt it's the product of immense talent, but I don't think about that while I'm listening to it. As good entertainment should do, it takes me to a different place, makes me think, and sometimes even helps lift my spirit when I'm down.

If you listen to nothing else, listen to the second half of The Separated Man, starting at the 10 minute mark. That is music.

----------

If artists can include bands, I need a good deal of time to think about that. I do enjoy a number of bands, but few are consistent. The two in my catalog that are (Iron Maiden and Spock's Beard) are among my favorites, but I have trouble deciding between them. I'll probably post some bands later.

My current fave is an Austrian band named Serenity, their albums include Fallen Sanctuary, Words untold and dreams unlived, and Death and Legacy

They play symphonic metal and are my favourite band/artists at the moment becuase theyre the only band i've been following for a while now who havent stabbed me in the back.

Queen any day of the week, if we are talking just artists then Freddie Mercury who is the lead singer in Queen. ;)

I love these guys because first of all I'm a big fan of their genre, Rock and I also love how they always have something special in each of their songs, something innovative. This enables me to listen to almost all of their songs one after the other without getting bored of the genre while at the same time still having that feeling of listening to Rock music. Not only that but Freddie's voice is absolutely amazing, the high pitches he can reach is just, wow, Brian May's solo's are beautiful, Roger Taylor's drumming is cool and John Deacon's bass has a really unique style. Put them all together and you have the amazing band 'Queen'.

Easy for me ;)

Frank Ocean of course....I don't even know where to start but I guess he is a relatively new artist as he has only being making albums and records since 2009 but I have been following him form early 2010 and every song he releases is just amazing! This is the only artist that I know that with each song they have a really enjoy, there isn't a song I dislike from him and rhis is very rare.

Frank's genre of music alternates some of his songs are Soul/Soul RnB, Jazz, Blues, RnB and Hip Hop...He mainly combines these genre's together to make his own unique sound, I would consider him to fit under the genre of Urban Contemporary. He is an amazing vocalist one of the best male vocalists around but he has that twist where he can change his tone and musical style, he can also rap and from a big rap fan myself I would compare his flow to one of the greatest of all time "Andre 3000"

Sure he has the talent but his songs and their meaning's are what connect to me, whether it's a love song, a personal song Etc. I can just relate to it instantly. He is a gifted song writer and his use of metaphors and language are so clever, each song has it's own separate story. Also it's mainly just the variety of music he produces whether you're feeling down, want to rock out, working out, driving round, chilling....He has a song to fit every situation!

I think I must own over 100 songs of his which is weird since he has only been around for 3 years and his last album reached mainstream success and he ended up winning 2 Grammy's which he deserved and it's sad to hear that Channel Orange may be his last album.

I'm going to narrow it down to 3, since I have lots. So yeah, top three:

3. Marina and the Diamonds
I really love her voice. Marina is very perfect and I love her songs so much. She once said 'The Diamonds' aren't a band, it's her fans.
My favorite song by her is Mowgli's Road. It catches that beautiful yet crazy and quirky wildlife that I really like-

Well I want to thank my sister for making me feel obsessed to her.

2. Yuna
A cute Malaysian teenager singer. Her voice is so calm and soft, it made me feel so happy whenever I hear her songs. Her songs are really hopeful and very sweet. One of my favorite songs made by her is 'Terukir Di Bintang' which translates to Etched in the Stars-

1. The Kagamine Twins, Rin and Len Kagamine
Well of course I would make Vocaloid singers at the end as my favorite! Their voices are somewhat very adorable to hear and very enjoyable. Hearing them sing soothes my heart and it makes me feel very cheerful. My most favorite song sang by them is Requiem of the Spinning World. It's adventurous, I could feel the Dungeons and Dragons feel in that song.-
