Do You Think We Will Be Able to Control Trains in Zelda Ever Again?

I would not like to see the train again, but I'd rather have that than a boat to be honest. The train is set on tracks, meaning it's going to be rather linear. I hate following preset paths as you might be able to tell, so I hate the train.

All the hate being said, I do have to say this: I don't expect we'll see the train again any time soon. Spirit Tracks was panned BECAUSE OF the tain, because of the leap in technology (well, there are a bunch factors but among the fans, most of them panned ST due to trains existing). Nintendo loves to play it safe in some areas while exploring others, so I think they will ditch the train for a while. Perhaps it'll return in a future installment, just not in the near future?

I borrowed a copy of spirit tracks and playing thru it now, and I have to say, I HATE THE TRAIN. OMG i don't wanna be hassled to slam on the breaks reverse switch tracks and letting those stupid demon exploding trains go by, they are just so annoying. Its like i just wanna get where i'm going. I blow the horn to scare pigs off and they get scared and run onto the tracks and kill me? I shoot the pigs they get mad and kill me....

The boat was fine, and I kinda liked it, I preferred the sailing of windwaker to the steamboat of phantom hour glass. I biggest reason PH was less fun, is more things attacked me. Transportation should be just that. I'm fine with danger in like certain areas, but random flying shark attacks are not fun.

Horses, we need more Horses.

I really did like the train in Spirit Tracks, but I don't think we'll ever see it again. It wasn't well-liked by very many people... Mostly because the tracks set you on a path that you couldn't go off of; whereas in the other Zelda games, you could take any path you wanted to. That was a feature a lot of people were disappointed to not see in Spirit Tracks.

I personally wouldn't mind if the train came back. I thought it was nice. New features would be cool; though I don't think there is much more to be added.

If it did come back, which I can see as a possibility, they might make the trains fly, kind of like the Demon Train and make the travel more accesible. But thats just a thought, I loved the train and I didn't think it was bad. Just easy, thats all I had a problem with.

Will Link control a train in a future Zelda game? I doubt it. Nintendo appeared hellbent to provide vehicles for air, land, and sea travel; the trio now being compete, the company will likely probe new grounds or return to the hero walking on foot or riding Epona. Hopefully, however, Spirit Tracks isn't the last we'll see of trains in Hyrule.

I'd like to see a dungeon in a future installment set in a subway station like environment with trains for Link to avoid as he traverses narrow underground tunnels. Yes, it sounds a bit like James Bond but we've seen a number of futuristic elements before, now it's time to take that to the next level and present a modernized enemy lair which takes it a step further than Skyward Sword's Lanayru Mining Facility.

I'd personally like to see it as a dungeon too.

May we meet again
I hope trains make a return in some form or another.

On the handhelds, I see it coming to return in a similar fashion to ST. I never had a problem with way it was set up, just make it a tad bit faster for the high speed and it'll be perfect.

I don't see it in the same fashion for the consoles, though. If we're using some form of transportation, it'll most likely be Epona, she's still the best generally speaking. But I hope they make a train as a dungeon. I really enjoy the totally oddball dungeons like the Snow Mansion, and the Sand Ship has proven that a mobile dungeon can work, so if we can have one of the dungeons be a monstrous train (maybe the Demon Train???) where it's actually traveling to certain locations as we're inside of it, that'll be dope.

It'd be totally cool if we have a monsterous train as a dungeon.

it was very boring in my own opinion because it was not fast enough and we not have enough control of the train, i wish if they add any other form of transport thing (car, boat, plane etc.) we can customize it more. :)

Like this idea, but I'd rather see a huge vehicle that acts like our sanctuary or house so we can customize the interior, Like a huge boat, Then we can i.e sail with that boat everywhere and have some random stuff on it.?

I think Nintendo should keep the train controlling exclusive to Spirit Tracks and think of new ways to travel. It can get a little dull having the same transport over and over again, but having said that I'll exclude Horse riding since I really like doing so.

but they not have many options since we are in fantasy world, no ferrarri's or airplanes :(
so they have to use same thing again :(

You have a point, who knows maybe dragon riding will be the transportation in the next game.

No they don't have to use the same thing, there are loads more methods of transport then just Trains, Boats and Horses. Just because Zelda is in a fantasy world, doesn't mean cars can't be a form of transport, although Nintendo properly won't incorporate that into a Zelda game.

I wager the next form of Transport might be riding Hot-air balloons, but then who says future Zelda games Has to have a method of transport?
