It's that time of the year when things start to hot up. Over here in England we get two days where the sun shines every year. In other countries there is usually more sun than that and so there is more chance to get a summer tan. When I am exposed to the sun I tan rather easily, but I know others who don't tan so well and often burn after even brief exposure to the sun.

What I want to know is, do you tan easily? And do any of you enjoy sunbathing. Personally I don't like the heat so I tend to stay inside a lot in summer. I don't tend to sunbathe because it bores me. I know people who say how they love lying in the sun, but I hate it and find it an uncomfortable experience.

Yes, but I don't burn. Spent a month in Hungary with my guns out in 110 degree weather and blazing sunlight. No sunscreen and no sunburns.

On the rare occasion I venture into the sun it takes me about 2 seconds to go a olive brown shade. I'm pale but I don't really burn. I have burned in the past when I've spent too much time in the sun or whatever but generally I don't burn I just get really brown.

I tan really easily and rarely burn so long as I'm wearing sun screen during the hottest part of the day.

I don't really enjoy sun bathing because of the heat and brightness factor, but I usually tan just from walks and vacation at the beach. My hair also gets lighter which is fun.

I don't tan at all. I could be in the sun for 40 days and 40 nights and it would have little effect. I do like to sit in the sun reading a good book however.

Nope, I burn easily. Whenever it's sunny and I stick my head outside, the bloody sun burns me. I once did the laundry around 6pm and it took me less than 10 minutes to hang it to dry outside and yep.....I got burned like crazy. Even factor 50 sun spray doesn't help me. I swear the sun hates me.

Despite being quite pale, I rarely burn. After a few hours of working or lying in the sun, my skin starts to take on a reddish-brown colour. I'm not a huge fan of sunbathing as I find it boring after a while, but I love doing things outdoors so I maintain a tan that way.

Being a light shade of brown, any time when my bareskin is exposed to the summer sun, my melanin goes on overdrive and I become dark brown almost. I work outdoors, and even in the summers, I wear light, full covering clothes, like pajama pants and long sleeve shirts, with a baseball cap to protect my face/forehead, a bandanna over the back of my neck and sunscreen on my face + my beard. Coupled with work gloves, I've mitigated my tans these past summers.

I sort of tan. I will never get a direct one though. It will only come after a burn. And only if the burn is strong enough. But I burn fairly easily.

Similar to Matt, I burn super quickly and become tan from that. Hell, last week, I spent a few hours in the sun and turned ridiculously red and now my arms and face are super tan compared to the rest of my body.
