Do you Hold Zelda Grudges?

The Legend of Zelda series has many characters, dungeons, quests, stories, and other things. Some of those things are anger inducing, like getting stuck on a boss (Ahem Twinmold), or having to collect yet more random crap to progress (Ahem, the well in MM).

After having played the game(s), and gotten the grudges, when you play the game again, you feel very accomplished in having completed that ***** of a task yet again.

Do you do this? Where and when did you do it?

I've always held a grudge against Wallmasters. They are scary as **** and dealing with them in OoT as a kid was heart stopping.

It reminds you of that fear inducing moment when you turn off your lights. It's dark. Cold. Deathly silent. Then, you run. You run your little ass off, to get up your stairs as soon as possible before whatever demon-ghost-spirit-monster grabs your legs and pulls you back down the stairs. Once you make it to the last step, and you feel relieved that you made it up the stairs without suffering a painful death, you stare down into the dark abyss and get that feeling that something is watching you.

..that is what dealing with Wallmasters in the Forest Temple feels like.

I totally agree with you about the Wallmaster thing. But I hold a particular grudge against the Wallmaster from the Dampe digging sidequest in Majora's Mask. That thing likes to come out of nowhere and make you start the whole thing over! So annoying!

I also don't really like the first three child dungeons in Ocarina of Time. It just gets annoying having to play through all three of them before you have the freedom to do basically whatever you want as both an adult and child.

But the biggest grudge I have is against the Guardians. No, not Breath of the Wild Guardians. The Skyward Sword Guardians. Those things are by far the scariest things in the Zelda universe. You're running around, trying to collect the tears of light, when suddenly, the timer runs out. The Guardians eyes glow red. Then this music plays...

And you know you're totally screwed.

This is the reason I have yet to beat Skyward Sword...

My biggest grudge is against a quest. In TP I had an extreme grudge against the carriage part when you had to escort the carriage with Ralis to Kakariko Village. During my first play it made me so mad I quit and didn't pick it up until two years later. Then I finished it and never had troubles ever since. But still....everytime I play that part and beat it I flip the bird and say **** you! I did it again!

I do dread having to get that heart piece with the Skull Kids in the Lost Woods. It's just one note over the maximum number humans can retain, so I always mess up on the last note.
This.

Wow. I've never thought of it that way before. Somehow NinJa just managed to make the already incomprehensibly freaky Wallmasters more freaky.

Come to think of it, how do we ever survive into adulthood with such bonkers childhood paranoia? And more to the point, somehow ninty's managed to take that paranoia and turn it into a giant disembodied zombified grabby hand.

Sumo Wrestling makes me want to hate that otherwise quite likable Goron elder. Sometimes I do really good at it. Sometimes it takes me forever to beat him. When it takes me forever to beat him I start to wonder why I can't just pull out my sword and skewer him.

Think of it this way. You entered a Dungeon, a place infested by evil that wants to see you dead, and the Wall Masters know. The Wall Masters are friendly, they know what lies inside these dungeons and just want to spare your life. So they try to rescue you from the darkest corners of these dungeons, and take you to the safest place they can think of, the exit. Terribly misunderstood creatures they are.

In my opinion, I'd definitely have to say fighting the Gyorg Pair in MC. Usually I don't have an issue with uneven odds in battle, but fighting multiple enemies, while in the air, being forced to duplicate, and needing precision jumping is a bit much. It's a massive weight off my shoulders for sure.

Hm.. I've never thought of it this way before either. Well somehow Krow made me go from feeling freaked out to feeling guilty. and somehow still freaked out. I mean, they might not know any better but that still means wallmasters have no sense of decency, like how your dogs thinks it's acceptable to hump your leg or sniff your butt. Dude!! You can't just go around falling on people, grabbing them and hauling them all around like that!! Bad wallmaster! Bad!!

And if that's true then wallmasters might not be as creepy but they're still irritating! Which is more than grudge worthy of you ask me.

Isn't it weird though that wallmaster's behavior is like that? I mean everything else just tries to kill you. In all seriousness, I wonder if they're based on some sort of folklore or something.

i despise this place w/ every fiber of my being, and since the day i discovered it,on each subsequent playthrough of twilight princess,i always did the early boss room glitch to get past it
man i actually remember once when i went to mexico w/ my dad and brought my gamecube and was playing tp again,i was still stuck in that stupid dungeon for like 3 whole days despite having already beaten the game
