Majora's Mask Do MM Enemies Hit 1/8 Hearts at Times?

Something I've noticed when playing MM is that I'll get hit a few times (2-3) and only have 1/4 heart missing. It's made me wonder if there's an invisible "1/8 heart" damage that needs to be applied twice before I lose any health. At first I figure this was because I had the half damage power up from the Great Fairy, but today, during the Great Bay temple, I could have sworn I was hit multiple times and only lost 1/4 heart. Does anyone else notice this?

the third temple doubls your defense, perhaps during that enemys that hit 1/4 would be hitting 1/8.

Enemies deal 1/4-1/2 a heart of damage, so if you have the damage decrease power-up, then yes, some enemies will only deal 1/8th a heart of damage. (This is why I love SS's 1 heart damage ratio so much.)

Uhhh, no, I've never noticed that actually. Then again, I haven't played in quite awhile, so I could be wrong(which I'm not). I shall test this...

1/8 is impossible to achieve; the cap is 1/4th a heart. What you're experiencing is taking knockback during i-frames.

Interesting, but when this happened, it was definitely ocean area and it wasn't a chuchu (I think it was a leever). It happened again (after I had double defense) when I went to refight Odolwa. And I'm positive I've seen it happen when Majora's Wrath whips me.

8 1/2 hearts. He gets whipped....still 8 1/2 hearts. He's red with damage and everything, which is different than when he was facing the chu.

Mhm, yeah it's nothing but invincibility frames being funky. The same has happened to me without double defense within Woodfall Temple (first run through), multiple times in Ocarina of Time, et cetera. I've no idea what triggers it or why it happens; must be a programming oversight. ALl I know is that it happens.

Yes, I've noticed that. For an enemy that does 1/4th damage before the 3rd great fairy upgrade, after the upgrade you have be hit twice by that same enemy for 1/4th heart damage to show.
