If you're like me, you may be wanting to play through the story of AoC in full chronological order including the new EX story chapters. However, it's not exactly laid out for us where they fit in throughout the main story. Luckily, I believe there's enough context clues to narrow down a guide. I felt very compelled to do this, so here's a thread for it. Note that I'm only gonna be focusing on the missions themselves in this thread. I'm not looking at where all the new cutscenes take place.... yet. :eyes:

↳ EX To Zelda's Side
Chapter 1 Mission 1: The Battle of Hyrule Field
Chapter 1 Mission 2: Road to the Ancient Lab
Chapter 2 Mission 1: Mipha, the Zora Princess
Chapter 2 Mission 2: Daruk, the Goron Hero
Chapter 2 Mission 3: Revali, the Rito Warrior
Chapter 2 Mission 4: Urbosa, the Gerudo Chief
Chapter 2 Mission 5: The Yiga Clan Attacks!
Chapter 3 Mission 1: Freeing Korok Forest
Chapter 3 Mission 2: The Road Home, Besieged
Chapter 4 Mission 1: Akkala Tower
Chapter 4 Mission 2: Destroy the Yiga Clan!
Chapter 4 Mission 3: When Courage Fails
Chapter 5 Mission 1: Calamity Strikes
↳ EX The Princess and the King
Chapter 5 Mission 2: Water and Fire
Chapter 5 Mission 3: Air and Lightning
↳ EX Battle of Goponga Village
↳ EX Battle for Kakariko Village
↳ EX Searching Hyrule Forest
↳ EX Liberate the Ancient Lab
↳ EX Guardian of Remembrance
↳ EX The Yiga Clan's Retreat

Chapter 6 Mission 1: Relentless as a Waterfall
Chapter 6 Mission 2: Each Step Like Thunder
Chapter 7 Mission 1: The Great Plateau
Chapter 7 Mission 2: All Hyrule, United
Chapter 7 Mission 3: The Future of Hyrule

This list is, from my own inference, the intended chronological placements for all the EX missions. The vast majority of them seem to be very bunched together, as it's implied they're happening around roughly the same times. Definitely serves to pad out the second half of the story. I really want to play through the game again like this.

I also think that the The Princess and the King takes place very soon after Calamity Strikes but what's strange is that the memory doesn't become playable until after Zelda unlocks her power. I'm thinking it's mostly because of the end bit of the cutscene after, where King Rhoam is shown at the Great Plateau, and Urbosa tells him Zelda is now "stronger than her mother".

I don't know when they each unlock because I got the game on release and thus had beaten the story long before any dlc came out, but that does make sense considering the plot details involved in it. It would spoil you on late story stuff if it unlocked too soon.

Bolded is DLC. Asterisk is cutscene.

Honestly the only difficult one to place was Guardian of Remembrance because it includes both Robbie and Purah, but ALSO includes the Yiga still being on Harbinger Ganon's side... which is kind of impossible because Astor betrays the Yiga BEFORE Zelda's party rescues Robbie and Purah. :suspicious: So for the sake of convenience, you could make the case that Guardian of Remembrance happens when it does on my list and then after that Robbie and Purah respectively went off to Akkala and Fort Hateno and then needed your rescuing... Idk. That's the excuse I'm using. :shrugs: I want to replay the story and cutscenes in the order of this list.

If I wanted to get really nutty, I could try and place every single flashback in Fragments of Memory, too... Perhaps another time.
