The only characters I used were Wario, Luigi, and Toon Link. But 90% of the time I used Wario because his moveset was the only one I could memorize. I hate memorizing movesets in Smash Bros... Most of the time I just repeatedly mash the 'A' button >_>. Fighting games aren't my thing.
