In Breath of the Wild monsters have numerically displayed Health Points while Link only has hearts. I wondered what that translated to, and as it turns out 1/4 of a heart is equal to one hp meaning Link has a maximum of 120 hp. This made me wonder what other monsters had going on. Of course we know their hp simply by wearing the champion's tunic, but what about the stats we don't see? What is their natural attack power, or how much defense they have? Also knowing the master sword has 30 attack, can we use this to translate to other games where it appears?

Red Bokoblin HP:13 ATK:0 DEF:0
I started with the basics; fighting a red bokoblin naked, for science. They have 13HP but no natural strength or defense. When one attacks Link wielding a boko club it deals 4 damage, or one heart as expected. Then I wear a piece of armor that has 3 def, so the bokoblin only did 1 damage, or 1/4 heart.

Now I put on another 3 def piece of armor though I still only receive 1 damage.
Finally I put on an armor set with a total of 15 def and still take 1 damage.
So it seems the minimum damage Link takes is one regardless of defense, or elixirs.
White Maned Lynel HP:4000 ATK:~31 DEF:0
I decided to move up to something tougher; a white maned lynel.
They have 4000hp or a whopping 1000 heart containers. Though they seem to have no defense as hitting it with the master sword did the normal 30 damage. This particular lynels was wielding a mighty lynel spear and a Savage Lynel Bow. Hitting me with its' various attacks hurts like a mother******. It's fire breath attack does 7 damage regardless of distance, except one time it did 3 for some reason.
Its' other attacks were all pretty consistent dealing 46-51 damage. Though at one point it's charge attack did 65 and the fire arrows doing about the same. This leads me to believe this particular breed of lynels has a natural power of 31 or so
This is what I've gotten so far, and I'm kind of excited to see what exactly the other enemies have.
I can also conclude the damage calculation is a simple atk-def=damage type of formula.

-Blue Lynel = 12 1/2 heart (50) charge, 14 hearts with Mighty Lynel Sword and no modifier. One in Hyrule Castle. Sword does 36 damage, so Lynel true attack is 20. Total damage was 56.

-Blue Hinox = clap 12 hearts (48), pound 12, butt flatten 12, tree 15

-Black Hinox = 18 hearts (72)

(Trees in general add three hearts of damage to a Hinox's attack power)

Ripped from a gamefaqs post. Attack ratings only not defence

{Edit} - apparently these are the "base" attack ratings, so regardless of weapon equipped that damage is fixed.

Molduga:

-Molduga = 15 (60)

Stal enemies:

-Stalkoblin = 1/4 heart (1)

-Stalmoblin = 2 1/2 (10)

-Forest Octorok = 1/2 heart (2)

-Rock Octorok = 1/4 heart (1)

-Electric Keese = 4 heart charge (no damage difference with any number of metallic objects) (16)

Guardians:

Guardian Stalker = 14 1/2 heart (58) beam. There's two hitboxes to this attack. There's a fire hitbox that does six damage, and the beam hitbox that is affected by defense. The beam hitbox does 52. It also does fixed damage minimum damage. The beam can only be reduced down to eight damage. The only way to remove the fire hitbox damage is to wear the Flamebreaker set with the set bonus. Because of this, it is the best armor for defense when facing down a Guardian, or as a safety net when parrying their shots.

(All Guardian beams do same damage)

Talus:

-Stone Talus = arm toss ranges damage drastically 1/4 heart to 3 1/4 up (13) close (also had 1/4 up close, weird hitboxes), up close can slam onto Link did 15 hearts (60), right fist slam 15, left arm sweep 15
