I never even noticed a resemblance.
I just saw him as a character that doesn't like the main character.

As I was observing him the first time I said, "Spiky red hair, yellow eyes..." :O
So I was a little dissapointed when it didn't turn out that way. Oh, well. Demise is still cool.

The only thing similar about them is the height. Groose just doesn't have that evil ganondorf look on him. He just looks like a guy who plays tricks and bullies kids.
