Names aren't a defining factor for me, we all become accustom to names eventually.

Yuga is ok I guess, I don't really have an opinion on the name nor could I think of a decent alternative to suit this... let's say odd figure. I'm thinking Yuga is a more feminine name due to the "a"; however, I'm not exactly sure on Japanese terms and names.

Dafuq kind of a villain name is Yogi Bear Yuga?

Meh, I'm sure he/she/fish will be a great villain regardless of his/her/potato name.

I'm not sure if this is correct, but Yuga seems to be used as a male name. At least in Japanese.

As for the name itself, it sounds like a name some evil character would be adorned with (no offense to any Yugas out there). Like justac00lguy said, specific names don't really contribute to our overall thoughts on the game. We all eventually get used to them and they seem just as normal as Link or Zelda.

Names that end with the "a" sound aren't necessarily feminine in Japan, actually, is Yuga even a Japanese name?

I'm glad that Nintendo is using his name, it get people a chance to learn about a different culture. If you ever want to learn about the different gaming culture, the people who make our games than get on YouTube and type in gaijin goomba, here's a link http://www.youtube.com/user/GaijinGoomba

I think Yuga is the name of the jester looking guy. The Dark figure in clouds is most likely Ganon, you can tell by the familiar shape that the figure has.

I agree, i bet the smokey/shadowy figure with the red eyes, is ganon manifesting himself, or it could be a Bellum type figure. either way, im betting this will be the best in-game story in any Zelda game so far! which is something ive been waiting a really long time for. I've been wanting an epic in game story to go with the flawless gameplay. if the two mesh well, the status of Zelda within the Gaming Industry will rise higher than it already is!

Yeah that'll be Ganon for sure, his tusks shoulder armour and spiked cap are visible at different times through the dark smoke. There's no way for it not to be him unless there is a lorule counterpart which looks identical.

I pointed out in another thread that the names of characters are decided by the english localization team and are not necesarily what the characters names are in Japan. Therefore it is unlikley the character will be called Yuga in Japan and therefore does not have to be a male name just because Yuga would be used to name a male in Japan. Yuga sounds female because it ends in 'a'. A good example of naming differences is that of the Ancient cistern boss we know as Koloktos, in Japan they know him as Da Iruōma, he's known simply as Iruoma in spain, Malgare in Italy and Da Ilohm in germany. So Yuga has the potential to be called something allot different everywhere else.
