The only conversation I know of between the two is when Anju brings her grandmother her lunch and Anju's Grandmother gets all messed up between her and Tortus. Another cutscene is listening like a stalker to Anju and her mother's conversation when you give Anju Kafei's Letter, but I didn't bother to do that part of the quest. I was a lazy butt!
