Been playing Persona 5 so my main goal is obviously to finish that sometime this summer.

I work 6 days a week with a 45 minute commute so time for gaming is limited, but I play a bit of something every day. Recently started playing The Lord of the Rings Online and while I won't be putting as much time into it as I do FFXIV, I'll try to at least play through the main story of the free to play parts.

I'm probably gonna play Legends: Arceus after I finish Persona 5 and maybe by that time Hogwarts Legacy will be out which I definitely intend to get.

I've kind of been alternating playing through the Final Fantasy games in between other games. I plan to get through FFVI, FFVII, and maybe FFVIII before the end of the year, but I can only play so many RPGs in a row without getting burned out so I've been pacing myself.

I do want to begin playing the Xenoblade games but I likely won't have time to begin that journey this year.

Beyond that I'm not too sure. There are a few games that I have on my backlog that I'll get to if I have the time, and a few classic games I'd like to replay like Earthbound.

I finally got around to finishing Minish Cap this year and am aiming also to finish TwilIght Princess by the end of the year. I got pretty far through it years ago and then put it down and forgot about it. To be honest it’s not really my favourite but it would be good to clear it from the backlog.

I'm gonna try to finish at least one FNAF game this month for spooky month, I'm close on a couple but it's beena while since I played them and I should see them through to completion, cuz I've had it for over a year lol.

it's not the end of the month yet but heck it, I have a good enough feel to say where my goals stand
I thought about this recently, and I want to play more PSP games. I've owned mine for a few years now and I've played through less than 10 games on it total, and I haven't even gotten to some of the notable ones I wanted to play for the longest of time like Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops or Daxter. At the least, I want to play through those soon.

I also need to replace my PS3 b/c its crapping out on me and won't accept discs, of which there's plenty I want to play and replay on it too. I want to look for a Super Slim this time. And just replay through some games in general since there's a lot I haven't played in over 5 years now.
funnily I thought that playing more PSP games was the more easier goal to get to than the whole PS3 business, but I managed to do the opposite

I got a Super Slim and replayed GTA 4, and I'm planning to do Liberty City Stories next as well as others I haven't played in a while
as for the PSP, well I did play a game on it but it was neither Daxter nor MGS PO, so it wasn't quite where I thought I would go at the beginning of the year

so overall these goals were partially reached, which is certainly better than how they were half a year ago

I didn't have much goals for this years. But I did complete my goals this year. I even got something which wasn't in my goals which is Immortals Fenyx Rising

Last year I was really disappointed by the amount of games I played. Most normal people would probably consider wanting to spend more time on your couch playing video games a bad thing, but I do love being a gamer and I want to try and branch out more. So on that note, I thought I'd type out the games I would like to start/finish this year.

Firstly I plan on finishing Spirit Tracks, but after that I actually now own Cadence of Hyrule and Metroid Prime 3. My main goal is to get those three done first, since I have them now. Some other games I'm considering getting are Hollow Knight, Skyrim, and Xenoblade Chronicles. There's obviously also BotW 2, but we'll have to see when/if that hits shelves. And as for games I'm continuing, I really want to keep up with ACNH for as long as my attention span will allow. My island if kind of garbage right now, and there's so much more I could do with more items and different seasons. I also need to get back to ALttP, because I got all the way to the third dungeon and having been avoiding it for at least a month. I don't dislike the game, it's just very tedious for me.
Well see what other stuff I get along the way, but that's what I'm planning for right now. (I also want to revive this thread in like a year to see if I actually did any of this lol). So, anybody else have any gaming plans for this year?

Oh hey, someone revived my thread! Thank you!

Well, did end up getting hollow knight. I didn't finish it, though. I also lost interest in Spirit Tracks partway through unfortu ately, and I don't think I'll get back to it this year. On the bright side though, I managed to beat CoH! I also started Minish Cap, which was not on my list, and am at the third dungeon. While I haven't been beating all the games I wanted to I've been playing more actively this year than last so that makes me happy. Hopefully I can keep it up for the next half.
So it looks like my goals for this year were to 1) finish Spirit Tracks, Cadence of Hyrule, and Metroid Prime, 2) play Animal Crossing and A Link to the Past, and 3) maybe buy Hollow Knight, Skyrim, or Xenoblade Chronicles.

As for the games I actually beat this year, I've done-
Cadence of Hyrule
Minish Cap
The Last Specter
Miracle Mask
Azran Legacy
I also bought Hollow Knight, and although I never finished it I never expected to and had a lot of fun playing it so I count that as a success.
There are a couple things that could've gone better this year. I did give up on Spirit Tracks for a lack of interest and I forgot I had the Prime trilogy. But I beat several games I wasn't expecting to, including Minish Cap which was an amazing experience. I also met my goal of continuing ACNH, at least until I perfected my island. I still wish I could've done more this year but I'm happy with what I did manage to accomplish.

Hmm, I have absolutely no idea. My focus will be on ANNO Mutationem for the time being, and potentially perfecting it on Steam depending on how doable that is after beating the game (I assume I'm about halfway, if not a little over, through the game). After that...

- Actually progress in Legends Arceus and potentially finish its story
- Play Dark Souls (not much to say here, I got the game for my birthday and beat the Asylum Demon and then shelved it for Legends Arceus for the time being)
- summer replay of Super Metroid goes somewhere in here?????
- Finish Metroid Dread (sort of similar to Dark Souls, I got it the same time I got another game and only sunk an hour into it before focusing on the other game)
- Find the motivation to finish that PC Bug Fables playthrough I left stagnant after starting Chapter 5 (maaaybe perfect the game if I, uh, know what I'm doing)
- Find the motivation to finish Cris Tales
- Finish or restart Chrono Trigger
- Actually progress in Morrowind and potentially finish its story

Three Hopes and Splatoon 3 might be in there somewhere too but meh
Umm, so... I only did two of the things on this list, both involving the entries that said perfecting games on Steam.

Though actually this was probably my biggest year for gaming, in terms of the amount of games I got through. I don't think I normally get through even 10 usually. Let me see...

The List
- Hollow Knight (PC) [replayed twice; perfected on Steam]
- Webbed (PC) [two playthroughs; perfected on Steam]
- Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling (PC) [finished replay; perfected on Steam]
- ANNO: Mutationem (PC) [perfected on Steam]
- Celeste (PC)
- Retrowave (PC) [perfected on Steam]
- Tree Simulator 2023 (PC)
- Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon [replayed]
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass [replayed]
- Paradise Marsh (PC) [perfected on Steam]
- Yoku's Island Express (PC)
- Morphopolis (PC) [perfected on Steam]
- Social Moth (PC)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch) [this counts????]
- Burnout Paradise Remastered (Switch)
- Rune Factory 5 (Switch)
- Blood Will Be Spilled (Switch)
- Metamorphosis (Switch)
- Life of Fly (Switch)
- The Mooseman (Switch)
- Transistor (Switch)
- Glyph (Switch)
- Icey (Switch)
- Gris (Switch)
- Sundered (Switch) [100% completion]

Games I started but did not finish (2023 resolutions™)
- Tales of Berseria (PC)
- Pokemon Legends Arceus (Switch)
- Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (Switch)
- Dark Souls Remastered (Switch)
- AI: The Somnium Files (Switch)
- Splatoon 3 (story mode) [Switch]
- Pokemon Violet (Switch)

Leni from Metamorphosis is a good character. And... is anyone gutsy enough to talk about the amogus segment in Phantom Hourglass?

We're already halfway through the year. My only gaming goal is to finish doing everything that I want to do in Skyrim. I already know what games I want to play after Skyrim, but I can't move onto them until I finish Skyrim, lol.
I did it finally, I finished the Dragonborn DLC which was the last questline that interested me. It feels good to have gotten this goal done. I think my goal for next year will be to finish my BotW replay before TotK.

I don't think I had any long term gaming goals for this year, just a lot of short term ones that came on a day by day basis. Like doing a certain amount each title update in Sunbreak or finishing a maddening run of Three Hopes, for example. I did do all of those. One goal I didn't finish this year was replaying BotW and AoC to celebrate TotK's release date announcement. The year's almost over and I'm still only at the halfway point of BotW. (didn't help that I was also playing the Sunbreak updates). That's fine, though, I guess. I hope to finish them both by the end of January so I can start on Bayonetta 3 finally.

I had a couple goals going into 2022 video game wise. I wanted to focus on new video game experiences and continue with the success I had with that in mid to late 2021 and I think I did really good with that. The 2nd was to make 2022 a pretty Zeldaless year. I only wanted play and beat 4 different mainline Zelda games in 2022 and play HWAoC from time to time. That didn't happen and I ended up beating 15 mainline Zelda games. I beat 7 of them more than once. Played HWDE. Played and beat HWAoC. For 16 total Zelda games beat and 17 played. The most Zelda games I beat in a calendar year since 2013. I put over 300 hours into BOTW. It turned out to be my biggest year with Zelda ever. I wanted to beat Metroid Dread at least 15 times before December 7th 2022 and I did that. As the year went on I set a goal of beating 50 games before the end of 2022 at the start of May. By the end of May I hit the 50 games beat before the end of 2022 goal. I started May with 22 games beat haha. I set two more goals after that. I wanted to beat 100 games before the end of 2022 and made a ultimate goal of beating 109 games before the end of 2022. I didn't think I'd accomplish those 2 goals and viewed them as pipe dream goals and didn't take them seriously. Until November 2022 when I beat game 84. After that it made me think I could achieve those 2 goals. With encouragement from friends I knew I could do it. I ended up beating 100 games in early December and in late December I achieve my ultimate goal of beating 109 games before the end of 2022. 2022 ended being the biggest video game year of my life. Short games that took me anywhere between 10 minutes and 5 hours to beat really helped me hit the 2022 games beat goals. Going in to 2022 I thought I'd be lucky if I beat 25 games. That was the amount I beat in 2021 and I greatly surpassed it in 2022. I made a detailed Google doc spreadsheet of all the 109 games I beat in 2022. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X7y-xGiT-Dj0qV3j94JrKI7MZ4zejSfEO8F9G4hFy-Q/edit#gid=0 I'm very proud of this list!
