In my experience, clicking on the new post takes me to the latest post that I have not personally read. So oftentimes, if it's a thread I haven't looked at yet, it'll take me to the first page. I personally like that because then I don't have to scroll up to see unread posts.
To be completely honest I think Jimmu's post closed the discussion quite sufficiently and there wasn't a necessity for any further responses to the topic, thus this thread should have been left alone after he had said his piece.
You're gonna need to back this up because I don't recall Rag ever intentionally trying to get a rise out of people. As one of the group of people who have gotten to know her lately, she is super nice and has no intention of trying to cause problems.
Rag and Jamie were extremely close, closer...
I disagree with allowing the creation of alt accounts with free reign, but they are already in allowed in some capacity depending on circumstances. For instance, we've used alt accounts in mafia games before, and there was an instance a few years ago in which people made harmless alts as a fun...
I like the idea of having a similar system to reward activity in the mafia and roleplay sections, separate from the Legends/Champions. My only concern is that having an overabundance of banners in one's post bit could get messy, so I'm not sure that's the best way to go. Even having 3 or 4 is a...
My suggestion is to stop treating the mafia section as if it's some toxic clique. A close-knit side community, sure, but I have seen a lot of assumptions and judgments about the section and its active contributors that are just blatantly untrue. It's a harmless subforum that brings new members...
If there's a way to do this consistently, I think it would be a good idea to use the Featured Thread box to help new posts in the Fan Works section gain more exposure. It seems, just from general observation, that that section isn't really visited much outside of the people who have their own...
My suggestion is to bring back to GKAs. Don't break a long standing tradition just because one or two people don't feel like putting in the work to run them. I know the decision came mostly from pure laziness and I don't buy for one second that it was a decision made as the volunteer team...
@Jamie's name should probably be added to the Retired Staff page in the member list. I noticed it was missing, must have just been forgotten. People deserve to be recognized when they've worked hard to serve this community!
I've gone ahead and removed your previous Golden Key Awards as per your request. But if you'd like something like this done in the future, please pm an Admin or CC rather than posting in here, it just makes it easier for us to see the request!
Is it possible to make it so clicking on a new post in the SB doesn't automatically open it in a new tab? It's a fairly minor thing, but I often end up with 10 or more ZD tabs open from clicking on new posts and then returning to the main forum page. It's not a big thing on my computer, but it...
I'm actually trying to get a new thing started to reward people, not for posting a lot, but for posting well, and consistently. Even a badge for people who make quality posts is an incentive for people to post a lot. My only real concern with awarding people based on quantity alone is that...
I just realized that the blog section here is not open for public viewing, it's restricted to members only. I can understand why forums like Community Area and Life Advice are hidden from the public, but if the MD and TOYM are open for guests to view, along with even this thread, then the blogs...
I mean, the reason we get rupees for creating threads in the first place is to encourage the creation of threads. It seems to be working, does it not? I fail to see the issue at hand. Creating 100 new threads in a day allows people to discuss anything they want and opens the opportunity for...
Would it be feasible to have a "reaction" system similar to what Facebook has? I would love to be able to <3 or :ananger: people's posts without responding to them.
There is an optional swear filter for people who don't like seeing words like "****". If it's in an image in your status, it bypasses the filter completely. While I'm not one of the people who thinks there's any difference between "****" and "****", there are people who would rather see a series...
I know that a lot of people disliked them, but can we have post alerts for the Mafia section in the Shoutbox again? Many games have been suffering from inactivity as of late, and I think it's partially because a lot of people don't realize people are posting in them (I always watch mafia...
What if there was some promotion on the main site? Like just a post once a month or so saying that there are competitions going on at the forums. The main site gets a hell of a lot more traffic than the forums, this could attract some new blood to come and participate. I really enjoyed the...
People that ask to be mods just because they want to be mods are the last people we should have as mods. Just saying. Also no, that's way too many mods. Just a good group of mods who are reasonably active.
No. Nowhere on the internet will you avoid seeing some foul language here and there. The...
The problem with the mods isn't that they aren't doing their jobs; they are, and they're doing a great job. The problem is that there isn't much for them to do nowadays, which people interpret as them being lazy and not doing what they're supposed to. I haven't seen a member break any really...
Adding on to my previous post, and related to what Soul said, the forums currently have an extremely stable community, the best it's been in a really long time. This is in large part due to the staff. They all work hard and strive to make the forums the best they can be, and they all deserve...
I don't like the idea of mod elections. That's essentially giving residents of a town the right to elect new members of the police force. I can see more harm than good coming from that. Modship is something that is earned, and deservedly so for most people, being able to elect new mods would...
I think you totally missed the point of my post. I changed my name to start anew. I don't want people to know me by my old names anymore. If old members I used to talk to come back and don't know who I am, I don't want them to be like "Oh you're TSter/Mezlo, I remember you!" I'd rather they...
I don't want a previous usernames tab. I don't dislike my old usernames, but I don't want to be referred to by them anymore. Mostly for personal reasons. I know everybody already knows my old usernames, but new people don't, and I'd like it to stay that way. I changed my name to, in a sense...
If I may:
I personally disagree wholeheartedly with the idea of having subforums for every Zelda game. That would make things way too complex and most of those subforums would get hardly any use and would probably lay barren for quite a long time. I like the current system that we have going on...
Ok, legit suggestion, and I want it taken seriously.
Someone who isn't involved with the current staff should reboot the zelda dungeon forums and let it be run by people that actually care. Then actually take care of obvious problems when they exist and before they become bigger problems.
Or...
Alright then, I've got a suggestion. How about the staff listens to people for once and does what needs to be done instead of ignoring all the ****ty stuff that occurs and letting the forum turn into a toxic post-apocalyptic wasteland (because that's kinda what it's feeling like rn). Or perhaps...
I have a suggestion: Let's allow members to vote for members to ban in a democratic fashion.
I'm sure everybody can agree that this is a fantastic idea!
EDIT: I mean, like, nominate people and then vote for them, like the elections. It's a flawless plan imo!
This is perhaps the best mod team ZD has ever had. They all care about the well being of others and they all know what they're doing, don't abuse their power, and take their job very seriously. If people get banned/warned/whatever, it's because of broken rules. People can't expect to break rules...
Funny, that seems somehow familiar...
Oh ya, probably because that's how it works here too. People don't get banned on whim, there are always justifications for them and previous offences are generally taken into consideration.
I'd suggest knowing what you're talking about before calling out...
