I really just google a tutorial. Usually I say advanced sig tutorial for...and then the program. Then I just go to the various sites and see what I find to be interesting.
Awesome job, MK9!!!!!! It looks awesome. If you keep practicing at it, you'll become a pro at making sigs! Thanks for reading the tutorial. Again, awesome job!
Okay, when you have a request, don't rush it. You want it to look at good as possible so the person you are doing the sig for won't one, ask for changes, or two, have them go to someone else for their sig.
Make sure that when you are colorizing that you are colorizing the the top layer and not something underneath. You won't be able to see the changes if you don't. Also, make sure you have the Preview box checked so you can see what's happening to your document while you change it.
Thank you! The signature I am using took me two-and-a-half hours of work. I actually looked up a tutorial and learned some more on GIMP and how to use its various features. That tutorial is here: http://dduazo.deviantart.com/art/Advanced-GIMP-Signature-Tut-129846038
You did a great job with your...
Right click anywhere on your document and go to Windows > Recently Closed Docks > Layers, Channels, Paths, Undo - Brus... This will open up your layers dock.
It's looks great! It's very colorful and very bright. ;) Good job!
It looks like a couple of people answered your question, so I won't repeat everything they already said. Just go by what they said, and you should get everything to work. ;)
If you go to the first post on this thread, there is a link to a picture that has an image of what a ZIP File. Regarding the font, I don't know what to tell you there. If you did extract your files from the file then I think there might be something wrong...I'm not 100% sure though.
Okay, upload your picture to Photo Bucket or something. Then, copy the link to the image. Go to edit your signature in your settings and then click on the little image button. Paste your link in there and click OK. Your sig should show up then.
Okay, so it's come to my attention that if you're making a signature, you may want new fonts (Zelda related or something different [doesn't really matter]). To do that you have to search for a certain type of font that you would like to download. If you are looking for a Zelda font, search...
Excellent work, Josie. The more you practice with this, I'm telling you, you'll get a lot better. You should just look at what my sigs looked like when I started. Lol.
Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Put them at the right spot so they look like they could go on forever. Also, if you ever need to fix or change something (and this is to everyone), save your project as a .xcf file so you can go back and change things later. It's kind of hard to change...
Open a new document with the dimensions of 1000 by 1000. Once the document is open, paste the picture you want to cut your render out of. Click the lasso looking tool in your toolbox and click outside of the picture. This is so it will become apart of the background. Click on the first spot...
I'm sorry, but I can't understand what you are saying.
Anyway, to add brushes to your GIMP Brushes Toolbox, go to Start > Computer > OS (C: ) > Program Files > GIMP-2.0 > share > gimp > 2.0 > brushes. When you're there, go to the folder where all the brushes you downloaded we saved to. If you...
Just a little recommendation when making your sig, if you're going to increase the canvas size, don't make what goes outside the original height and width touch the borders of the canvas addition. It doesn't look very nice. Trust me, I've made that mistake and have gone back several times to fix...
Thank you Knowlee. Yes, you can do that with GIMP as well. Also, (thanks to Kitsu) I learned the .abr files can be used in newer versions of GIMP including 2.6.
I have used Photoshop before, but I can't seem to handle all of it. It's a very involved program. It may look like it's simple, but it's actually really not at all.
*I apologize in advance for the blurry images…I don’t know what caused that.*
I looked throughout the Avatars and Signatures section of the forums and I didn't see something like this here, so I thought I'd make this a thread.
Basically, all I'm really going to explain is how to...
