The Flooding for the simple and obvious, there was nothing left of hyrule but the castle and the peoples, in BOTW this "calamity" wasn't so calamitous we see there are plenty of settlements that are still about 100 years later and the people seem to be on the same developmental stages as OOT people.- Jirohnagi
