Over the first 3 years, PS3 sold 50 and 3DS sold 43.
I don't really care which has more brand power at this point. Once again you're ignoring who I'm responding to and the points they made. Lozjam was comparing TOTAL SALES. How many times do I have to say this? What the heck do you think total...
You haven't been paying attention at all. Lozjam was comparing total sales and saying the 3ds had more so Nintendo had more brand power or some nonsense and defended his position multiple times. Perhaps you should read the posts we are responding to before trying to make a point.
@the8thark it's not unfair to compare the total sales of the 3ds to the total sales of a console that came out 2 years later because they are both consoles? What?
Alright I'll concede that Nintendo has sold better since the release of the 3DS, but if we count all of the sales since the PS4's release then Sony is doing the best right now, that's why the Switch is coming out mid-generation. It's just unfair to compare total sales of the 3DS to the PS4.
Okay, but it's not an ad hominem.
This is nonsense. If you add up all of the sales playstation consoles and nintendo consoles have sold since the release of the 3DS, playstation wins. You're using faulty logic now. Nintendo does not have higher brand power right now than Sony, and it doesn't...
Simply the search "Nintendo" should garner more results than "Playstation" because Nintendo has first party games.
There is no question over what has more searches between Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. Sony and Microsoft both have much more aside from the occasional Nintendo spike.
This is delusional. You're comparing Nintendo as a company to Playstation and X Box as individual gaming devices which is unfair. Nintendo has multiple products. Not to mention the Switch is an entirely new console and can't be compared to upgraded versions of already existing consoles. Granted...
The NES was released ages before the 3DS. Currently the number of transistors we can fit in the same space roughly doubles every year. But a bigger space will always be able to fit more than a smaller one. The bigger the console, the more powerful it can be if you compare modern to modern...
Bulkier technology will always be more powerful than smaller technology, and always noticeably so because larger technology can obviously have more switches than smaller technology.
If that's the case, then I suppose "home console you can take on the go" is fair, assuming the 720p is due to a technical limitation when it's not docked and not Nintendo cheaping out. I still contend though that the quality of the games in terms of graphics and framerate will reflect what is...
Okay then what is a Laptop actually a Desktop because it gains a power boost when you plug it in? The game's code does not change based on whether it's plugged in or not. There are no in-game differences. The game doesn't run at a higher framerate or resolution or anything based on whether it's...
@Lozjam @the8thark right but it's not actually "better" when plugged in. As in, the dock adds no extra power. If it doesn't enhance the handheld on its own, then I would consider the console to be a handheld console.
It's certainly the most incredible handheld ever, that we can agree on. I think the difference between a handheld that plugs into the TV and a console that you can take on the go is just semantics. At the end of the day it doesn't get a graphical or processing boost from being plugged in so it...
It has full console power, depending on what you mean by full power. But something that small could not realistically have power equal to modern consoles if that's what you mean.
I would bet a pretty penny that an early 2017 handheld will not have more power than a late 2013 home console.
For example, the PS3 came out in 2006. The PS Vita came out 5 years later and was still considerably weaker.
Until Nintendo releases actual specs I refuse to believe that a handheld...
I would bet a copy of the Switch that Skyrim is coming out for it. It just isn't announced and Bethesda noted that. Of course it's coming out for the Switch. Not even Nintendo is that stupid.
They showed in the trailer a controller very similar to that. You can even use the controller on the portable one. Or you can use the controllers on the side. Or you can use those same controllers separately. The key thing here is there are many options.
To me it's basically what we all wanted...
