Being protective of the IPs in general could be the case too, yeah, good point. And I mean they're pretty quick to shut down fan projects and stuff even when they're nonprofit so that kinda points to it a bit too. But if they got no ideas then maybe they should talk to the people that do. Not...
I'm gonna bet you part of the reason some of these series haven't come back is that Nintendo legit just doesn't have an idea for a game and is too proud to outsource it to a company that does. Even if they're getting money from it, how much of a blow to one's pride is it that an entry to a...
On the bright side with Zelda is that I still think it's somewhat probable that the open worldness to this extreme is a gimmick that won't stick around. Like it makes sense it's sticking around for Tears of the Kingdom cuz its the 'sequel' to Breath of the Wild. Only time will tell, though...
I mean I do get it though. Maybe not quite the same thing but, like, I got all that bitterness about the direction of Rune Factory favoring all the waifu crap and how all of these so-called fans of the series being totally okay with the destruction of the series cuz indulgence of self-inserting...
Ok, I'm sorry. I don't want to antagonize you by any means. I just wanted you to understand how you're coming across in some of your recent posts. If that's not how you intended it then it was important you clear that up more and your reply does somewhat. So no hard feelings there.
I think...
You implied it right here
And said it rather blatantly, here
And I don't want you thinking I'm trying to remove your words from context, cuz that's not what I'm trying to do. But this is how your words are coming across, and while I get you're upset and you have a reason to be, being mad...
The team that makes Xenoblade has literally nothing to do with these dormant franchises. Whether they choose to start a new project or not doesn't mean that a dormant franchise would return. Just cuz some series have developers that actively care on working on their series doesn't mean they're...
Dunno where else to put this but I'm trying out the Harvestella demo right now and I wanna share my early impressions/thoughts so far.
It's... alright.
The gameplay is a little different and I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet. I'm not crazy about the world map thing. That kind of...
What I really wanna know is if the Fell Dragon in FE Engage is supposed to be Grima from Awakening or someone else. I haven't played enough of the pre-Awakening Fire Emblems to know if any of the other 'evil dragons' were called that. I want to say they weren't but someone more knowledgeable...
oh its definitely nintendos problem. but that fans still expect them to change their ways is kinda on the fans. nintendo's talent is stalling things out and they do usually cover stuff from previous directs cuz it occupies a chunk of that 40 minute window.
people kind of clamouring for a direct the past couple months being like SEPTEMBERS THE MONTH like as if nintendo making a direct somehow gives them the power to have amazing anouncements, yeah thats taking it too seriously imo
cuz if they got nothing to share and they are probably only doing...
i just stopped trusting nintendo after they proved to be unreliable in putting out many worthwhile announcements. i guess i cant relate to being annoyed cuz i dont expect anything
edit: and that is why im able to joke about it
joking about how predictable the directs are is more like making fun of nintendo than anything, to be fair. but if it also offends people who take nintendo directs/game announcements too seriously then thats kind of a different problem. and joking is generally the antidote to taking things too...
i dont even think the joke has anything to do with the titles the person decided to joke about
the joke to me is how nintendo will probably spend more than half the direct talking about only a couple of things cuz they probably dont actually have much to announce
as far as thinner spread coverage goes, i think we can see that that's not something unique to splatoon 3 and its an ongoing problem with nintendo right now. smash ultimate's abundant coverage was from a time before the pandemic hit, back when we had frequent nintendo directs. that they're...
i mean probably for the same reason smash ultimate wasnt a port, which i remember being a huge argument back when that game was announced, too.
there are probably more technical and mechanical changes than we know about that do indeed justify the decision to make it a new game. i can see some...
do any games really *need* to exist? they exist cuz someone has an idea they want to share with an audience. its not necessary for existence but it enriches it like any art can.
i really dont think its that its a low priority, but its that they dont understand that silence on one game cant be compensated by coverage of another game. they act like covering one or two upcoming games means that they have no reason to give any news for other games because the fans of these...
i would like to add that xenoblade most definitely has a large following, considering that 3's preorders knocked out their site from all the traffic. like just because not all of us here arent interested in it, doesnt mean that it hasnt become a large nintendo series of its own right.
nintendo pretty much posts nonstop updates to their twitter with bios for xenoblade 3 characters, which has sort of already assumed the role of what a special direct would do for the game. we have a LOT of pre-release information for the game, so its not like a dedicated direct is particularly...
Cuz it's free, probably. I'll probably give it a try cuz the Asphalt devs made it, and they do good work on racing games for sure.
If Switch Sports was free like Wii Sports technically was as included with the Wii, I'd totally try it. But I dun wanna pay for it
I'm becoming increasingly less interested in Triangle Strategy when og octopath traveler Live A Live is being remastered with the same look. Nothing quite sends a message that these games are all carpon copies of each other like Square Enix recycling identical visuals. I don't think I've been...
I've taken the liberty of translating the names of the characters shown in the Japanese trailer for RF5, but... I don't know Japanese, this is just character map + Google translate + my own judgement.
Other than that, I hope what we saw is an indicator we'll actually get cutscenes for story...
I'd be interested in the 3D All-Stars game, but I don't know if I'll be able to get a physical and if I can't get a physical I won't bother. I've never played 64 or Sunshine so it would be new for me.
I'm most excited about the Splatfest to be honest.
Min Min looks cool, but I fear I'm not big-brained enough to play her. Particularly changing her ARMS. Her gimmick is super neat though and I look forward to all the neat stuff that can be done with her when taken advantage of.
Sakurai trivializing Pauline was the best though.
Aren't the ARMS characters very differently proportioned? Unless you want them really weirdly distorted like the Koopalings, that can't happen; they have to have the same hurt and hitboxes and the only way to do that is have them have the same proportions.
We cannot be disappointed with anything to come from this because we are getting 35 minutes of Sakurai being wholesome. So I am excited even though I know very little about ARMS.
The Banjo & Kazooie post-direct session with Sakurai was about 40 minutes if I remember correctly. Sakurai does go into some really nice detail when explaining his characters' mechanics and that's not a bad thing. And, I mean just because Nintendo said there was going to be no announcement on...
HouseHouse already posted an update that the game is delayed for mid to late 2019 so I don't know how likely it'll be that our beloved Untitled Goose Game will be featured. :(
I made this horribly obnoxious illuminati confirmed meme for the direct tomorrow. I can't even tell if I'm being serious at this point but #hornet4smash
Memes aside, I have medium expectations for the direct tomorrow. It's our first direct of the year, so I'm hoping they got some good stuff...
Direct still didn't answer my question about the save data backups. Do they only exist for as long as your subscription is in effect, and they go away when it expires? Or do they stay on the cloud even if you go a few months without renewing?
