I don't really know why someone would feel comfortable opening up first thing to a community they do not know. It is not safe to be that open and I would hope if someone is really struggling mentally, they wouldn't be signing up for a new community that would overwhelm them even more.
The only...
Post count being important is such a 2010 forum mindset; people spamming to up their post count was such a problem back then. If anyone thinks someone's post count has any say about their contribution to the forum, then I would hope they're in the minority.
and can this be enforced by people who join the forum during the hype to post a thread and dont know aboit this policy being jn place??
all the existing accommodations requirw the user to be in the loop and lots of people are joining to make a thread without this context
I'm not really thinking about the previous competition as needing any action as, they haven't said when it was made as far as I'm aware (and if it was an old painting, they likely were not doing it to cheat), but since the rules are not as common knowledge now, going forward I think this rule...
With the drawing competiton just concluded and the winning entry being a framed painting, the likelihood that it was made outside of the competition period is fairly likely. I think going forward, the rules should be made clearer within the competition theme OPs, as this is a clear violation of...
okay, update. i have applied changes on all the active themes so that on portait mode images will be 300px. this shouldn't affect clicking on them to view their larger size. if you have a better suggestion for a width that would work better, just let me know!
actually, there probably is... i think i could force a maximum width on images in posts. i'll test some stuff for portrait mode on responsive and see if it works
Yeah, unfortunately the settings are not that complex. I don't doubt there could be a way to make that happen, but it would probably involve rewriting the plugin and I don't have the skill nor access to do such a thing, and it likely would be reverted if/when the software got updated.
all the setting allows is setting a numerical value, although i agree your proposal would simplify things a lot. i also should probably add that these are settings per theme so hypothetically, different themes could have different cutoffs to cleanly have them cut off for a full row (as how many...
with the gkas having just been distributed, this has been back on my mind and i would like everyone else's opinion on this before any changes are made, cuz for some people im sure they do like seeing all their badges under their name in posts
but as the years go by, lots of members like myself...
she had it prior to the ugrade to xf2. xf2 seems to have dropped this support (or theres some setting) because anyone who's tried uploading gif avatars since, they just do not work
i honestly think its something to do with the uploader, maybe that theres a cropper, that just automatically...
@Spooky Mask Salesman @Azure Sage could you guys consider moving the costume contest to the community section? If it contains pictures of people, it should be in a section not viewable to guests.
This is super minor and probably low priority but I've noticed ever since more media sites were added to the embed list, there's an issue about linebreaking when text is placed beneath the embeds, and it's making formatting extra tedious. If that could be looked into, I'd appreciate it.
Perhaps not change the codes for them, but rather an option to universally disable emotes parsing for a user, that they can change in their settings? Similar to how theres a block smiley function.
EDIT: If it's not feasible to implement, you can currently circumvent smilies parsing by wrapping...
Is there a way to edit the shoutbox addon's quote action so that it actually links to the user instead of just putting their name? Cuz it's a really annoying flaw that allows messages from ignored users to be shown if they're quoted by other users.
I can't find this text to fix it, but my only...
Just my two cents, but while ZD in the past has had a lot of problems with people posting for the sake of farming a post count, I don't really see that as a prevalent issue anymore due to how message boards have evolved over time. Most sites where people post anymore don't keep a post count at...
@Morbid Minish
Sorry about the delay, but link colors on Shades of Blue and Default Dark should be fixed now. It's something that's bugged me a long time as a Default Dark user myself, but Xenforo 2's themes handle links really stupidly and it was overly complicated not universally changing...
shiitake has two i's; that's why it's being censored. You're misspelling it.
If I'm not mistaken, the reason there is no longer a toggle on censor visibility is because Xenforo2 actually made such a setting impossible to configure. We used to have one, but not anymore. Would rather keep the...
Made champions blue like the champions tunic on Default Dark and Shades of Blue. @Jimmu, if you disagree with my color decision, you can make your own tweaks with the overrides I placed in extra.less
If not disabling the reaction system, I think because the Mature Discussion board already has its own set of stricter rules, they could be updated to reflect trolling via the reaction system. While I do agree with Minish that these type of things happen in different sections as well, the MD has...
Would it be possible to give blog owners more moderation perms of their own blogs? I would love to manage my posted threads in there better, like merge some and such, without having to bother a mod about it.
We had an instance in the past where a user joined under a username that he didn't actually intend to use, but he wanted to have dibs on that name so no one else could have it, and then made another account for his actual forum use. He was open about the alt when confronted about it, and it was...
We used to have an option under preferences to control how many replies were displayed per page, like on the user end. Don't know why XF2 removed it. Universally making it for everyone in the forum setup sounds like a really bad solution, however. Not all of us have devices that can load that...
I lightened the color as much as I could without it being hard to see for other reasons (beige is a bad background color). Hopefully they're more differentiable now,
Maybe we need a forum section dedicated to the main site, like we have for the wiki. This forum section and this suggestions thread is pretty much specifically for feedback on the forums, though I do see a lot of suggestions for the main site being made here, but they get buried before main...
When the theme was designed, to prevent the navtabs from overflowing, I asked Jimmu which tab I should remove. Help was the one I was told to remove since you can access it on the bottom right of the page copyright in the footer. Either way, this theme won't be around for much longer so don't...
Well, it's not a question. It's not asking you if you got a new notification, it's telling you. It is grammatically correct for a statement to have the period. The change to be made would be to put quotation marks around the name of the thread, but even that is nitpicking. Good solution is to...
Can there be a policy regarding how far public displays of affection go? Like, I get some people on here are dating but there's not really a reason for it to be expressed so vilely in the shoutbox. It makes people uncomfortable.
how does ctrl click help me on mobile? i already said i manually open links in new tabs on desktop genius
clicking links with this new "configuration" dont even register as clicked on mobile
Non member access to viewing blogs is already a thing.
I do not think it should be set to the default privacy setting, however, it is available if you wanted your blog visible to non-registered users.
I'm not entirely sure where you could fully promote it, but new group discussions do show in the new post widget in the sidebar alongside forum posts so that could work in your favor. If anything, a blog post is probably well suited for this.
On a side note, I'll give you a little bit of...
If you have people on board, then they would have no issue in a social group for it, right? Your concern for a social group is that people would ignore it, but if you already have people, then it's not going to get ignored. You are free to promote social groups in your signature and similar...
For a flat-out serious book club, are you certain you could get a group of people to read the same book, and then discuss it? Because that's what a book club is; assigning a book to read and then discussing it in a week or so. As a community, we already have difficulty getting more than, like...
My take on the matter is if you haven't the self control to not click on blog entries you know will upset you, that's not something the staff should be forced to protect you from. Is it really so difficult to refrain from clicking on things? Same thing applies to threads, really. If a thread...
