Oh boy I sure do hope we don't get WWHD and TPHD for Switch, that would be such a bummer.
Ok but if we see those again, at this point they'll probably be on the next console.
Overall this looks fantastic, should be a fun little game. My only real nitpicks are that the levels aren't nonlinear and that the characters don't have unique attributes or abilities.
My prediction: 3 or more random anime style sorta RPGs that a bunch of people love when they come out but then they'll end up on the clearance shelf at Walmart.
People are going to complain wayyy too much about Crisp Rat's Mario voice, which is sorta valid but people are gonna complain about it instead of how cool everything else looked. Some generic Illumination vibes in some parts, but overall this looks really freaking fun.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I am...
You certainly have a valid point here overall, but I feel like a movie about a video game is an ok place to have that sort of thing, but the oversaturation is the problem
You know what else it was? Announced sooner.
I'm not talking down on Xenoblade, I'm expressing my frustration that BotW2 or even just a general Direct seems to be low priority for Nintendo
That's just the problem, the jrpg is priority, as usual.
Didn't realize I had to be looking forward to Xenoblade to be a Nintendo fan, I'll see myself out.
Exactly, that's only 5 months between announcement and release, we don't know how long they were working on it but I HEAVILY doubt it's longer than BotW2. Now BotW2 could just be the greatest game of all time and worth the wait, but it's certainly frustrating for it to be static for so long with...
This just goes to show Nintendo only cares about you if you're a jrpg weeb. This was announced in February of THIS YEAR. Meanwhile, the only BotW2 trailer we have is 3 years old and we have doubled the number of trailers for it since then. Amazing.
Top 3 announcements for me:
3: Earthbound on Switch is nice, I'll get a chance to play that sometime.
2: Kirby looking dope, especially the car thing :eyes::eyes:
1: PORTAL ON THE SWITCH HECK YES
Honorable mention to Coconut Mall on MK8DX, still don't plan on getting it anytime, but cool to see...
Preview for the Mario movie would be neat. Also I can't wait for the last 30 seconds to say "We have nothing to share about the Breath of the Wild sequel at the moment"
Open world Kirby looks cool, and glad to see they're actually doing N64 Online. I'm not too fussed about the new plan because $20/year is really good for any subscribtion service. Gonna be cool to have KotOR on Switch if I ever decide to play it. I'd call this a 3.5 star Direct
So the 2021 NASCAR video game was announced for preorders to open tomorrow, but Switch wasn't one of the platforms, despite the devs saying they wanted it to be on the Switch, which possibly bodes well for a September Direct for it to be announced at.
Nothing that had me going "ZOMG DAY 1 PURCHASE LESGO," but there were some gems. That racing game, cruising iirc, looked good, as did the Mario party classics thing. Metroid Dread looked cool, and a Guardians of the Galaxy game night be fun.
I'm glad I'll get a chance to try Miitopia, and SSHD is nice as well. Also glad it's not until July, I've got plenty of time to play some of my other planned games.
