I'm putting $1 on Metroid Prime 4 not appearing whatsoever at this direct. Anyone want to take that bet? :eyes:
(But it has to be an appearance. If someone comes on the stream and just name-drops it then it doesn't count.)
Man, that's a depressing thought: Metroid Prime 4 being announced in 2017 and then being kicked around and trapped in development hell for so long that it releases for the next console instead.
I don't know if I'd consider it "cult" based on their sales figures. That'd be like saying that Zelda has a cult following. That being said, Nintendo losing braincells around Metroid has been pretty consistent. The only real reason we got Metroid Prime is because Miyamoto didn't create it and...
It'd be some pretty redundant testing the waters. "Man, will people like this entry we announced six years ago that everyone was really excited for before we went full radio silent? Boy I wonder."
I mean, it's more that Dread was formally canceled and then resurrected 15 years later as a different project. Maybe we can look forward to seeing Metroid Prime 4 release in 2031. :eyes:
I'd say the biggest thing going against it would be the size of Gamecube games. Those can be upwards of 1.2 GB or so in size, so downloading an app that contains all of them would be rival Switch games in size.
Also, **** the NSO stuff and just let us purchase retro titles. Gonna feel pretty...
And showing nothing. It's been six years and nary a peep from Nintendo on the subject other than to announce that it wasn't up to the "Nintendo standard".
The "Nintendo standard".
For the sake of a better movie. I consider Arcane and Castlevania to be the best video game adaptations so far, and both of them treat the games at jumping off points. The source material isn't to be ignored, but also shouldn't be looked at as a limitation.
I tend towards a better story and movie in lieu of references. I feel like the biggest mistake a video game to movie adaptation can make is trying to ape the experience of playing the game.
Honestly, that's my fear. We saw some cool references to the game series, but I'm worried they're going to be cramming too many of them in a too short movie and that the storyline will become a tour of Mario franchises. Show up to the track, point at it, and say, "Look! It's Mario Kart! It's...
I mostly see it as an issue of Chris Pratt being cast for name recognition instead of searching for a voice actor who can do the voice better. At last Jack Black is putting effort in.
What's the difference between Nintendo releasing a Zelda game that does the same thing for the twelfth time and a Splatoon game that does the same thing for the third time?
At least one of them hasn't been going on for forty years.
I'm glad that Catherine: Full Body is finally making its way to Switch. While it doesn't make up for the betrayal of not bringing the Vita version to the US, it'll be super cool to have it on a portable console. I just wish it released a couple months ago, because I finally relented and...
Well, this is disappointing. Animal Crossing is 85% the same game every release, so I fail to see how a 25 minute direct can offer anything interesting.
I'm predicting that some Pokemon previously cut from Sword and Shield's 'dex will be returned via the magic of patches. I'm also predicting some light additional singleplayer content, probably some limited time event that lasts for only a couple weeks.
