    Final Fantasy XIII (13)

The second Barthandelus fight was the worst

    Final Fantasy XIII (13)

Oh yeah gameplay-wise Hope is great (although there are some situations where Vanille seems to be a better choice for medic), but as far as the story goes he was my least favorite of the six main characters. It just felt like he had the least amount of reason for being there; he was really only...

    Final Fantasy XIII (13)

I also really enjoyed FFXIII. The impression that I get is that people hate it because of how linear it is, but I guess since I new it would be pretty linear going in, I was able to focus on enjoying the story and characters, which for me at least is definitely the best part of the game. As far...

    Four Swords

If you're talking about the anniversary edition then yes it's the full game and you can play single player (although I don't think you could in the original) and as for if it's worth it I'm not sure; how much does it cost?

    Temple of the Ocean King

It's interesting that you feel this way. For me, in a game that introduced no new items and essentially recycled its transportation method from The Wind Waker, I always appreciated the Temple of the Ocean King as one of the very few original concepts Phantom Hourglass brought to the table...

    Aquatic Dungeons

Oh I forgot all about that room. Yeah the underwater maze right right before the boss key is a little frustrating. I'd still have to say the dungeon as a whole is easier than the Water and Great Bay temples.

What is the oldest Zelda you can bring yourself to play?

I can play any of them but I always go for the most recent version of them (VC or remake).

    Lanayru Gorge Theory

So I just finished playing through Skyward Sword again and I thought of a possible explanation. Since Faron only seems to drain the water out of the woods because she recognizes that it's an inconvenience to Link's quest, I don't think it's too unlikely that after the end of the game, she again...

    Linkle

I should point out that I don't see how Zelda could ever appear as a male, given that they're all mortal incarnations of Hylia.

    What's a remake and what's a remaster?

I'd say the Zelda remakes over the past few years would qualify as such because they've enhanced the gameplay mechanics. TPHD will no doubt incorporate the game pad in a similar way to WWHD, in which case I'll consider it a remake. That being said I was never really on board for a Twilight...

Breath of the Wild What items would you like to see in Zelda Wii U?

Not really an item but I'd love to see the magic meter make a return.

    Hookshot vs Clawshots

I think they're more or less even; on one hand the Clawshots allow you to raise and lower yourself and can be used in tandem with each other, but the Hookshot is able to latch onto a much larger variety of things and tends to have a longer range.

    Lanayru Gorge Theory

I feel like it's possible that the gorge could have filled with water at some point whether the Timeshift Stones were involved or not; a lot of time takes place between Skyward Sword and the rest of the timeline.

    Angular Isles

I actually liked FFXIII quite a lot. The linearity was a definite downside though.

TPHD-Wii U Twilight Princess: HD Which Visual Style would you prefer?

As much as I love option 4, it's too different from the original for the purposes of a remake. Gonna have to go with option 2.
  18. Jeffers

    Core lore

Yeah I agree; I remember that when they released the official timeline, the placement of Four Swords Adventures was the one that made the least amount of sense to me. It might be nice to have something released that takes place between Twilight Princess and FSA, but I'm not holding my breath.

You're probably right. What kind of world was is that you created?

    Anime Suggestions?

Psycho-Pass is probably my favorite one. Highly recommend it. Parasyte was pretty solid too. I just watched K and I'd say it's worth a watch as well.
  23. Jeffers

    Aquatic Dungeons

I don't think the Water Temple deserves its reputation. It's probably the most difficult dungeon in Ocarina of Time, but there are definitely harder ones out there. I didn't really think that they needed to add the glowing pathways in the 3DS remake; it wasn't really that awful. In my opinion...

    Angular Isles

I completed the Nintendo Gallery for the first time in The Wind Waker HD last week (not nearly as tedious as I expected it to be) and I noticed that, in the description for the Great Fairies figurine, their birthplace is listed as the Angular Isles. This is also said of the Salvage Corp. The...

    Core lore

I'll always respect that every game in the official timeline is canon, including Tri Force Heroes. I haven't played it yet but the vibe I'm getting is that people aren't happy about its canonical status. There is something that always bothered me though, and this seems like an appropriate thread...

    Spoiler Some Observations about Aryll

I recently completed my 100% playthrough of The Wind Waker HD, and as I watched the ending cutscene, it raised a question that I had never thought of before. During the final scene of the game, as Link, Tetra, and the pirates are setting sail to start their new future free of Hyrule’s cyclical...

OOT Ending - Why Weren't Mido and King Zora Celebrating?

I think the reason Medli and Makar are outside at the end of The Wind Waker is because Hyrule is destroyed, along with their temples and Ganondorf. They seem to be freed from their sage responsibilities. I'm not sure if the sages in Ocarina of Time have the same degree of freedom.

    Humanoid Bosses

That's a good point. I never thought about that in the case of WW because in that game I felt like Ganondorf was a great boss in a game where all the other boss fights (except for Puppet Ganon I suppose) were just ridiculously easy.
  30. Jeffers

    Humanoid Bosses

I wasn't a fan of the fight with him in OoT, but I loved fighting him in WW and TP.

    Humanoid Bosses

I loved Vaati in The Minish Cap but didn't care for him much at all in FS or FSA.

    Humanoid Bosses

Apparently unlike a lot of people around these parts, I quite enjoyed Skyward Sword for the most part. One of my favorite things about it was Ghirahim - as a character but also in terms of gameplay; he's one of my favorite bosses of all time, and I think part of it has to do with the fact that...

I actually didn't know what happened if you let them win; every playthrough in which I've fought them I won. Since their primary target seems to be the cows, then if they're flying toward Ikana, maybe they're taking the cows there so they can use all the meat to make physical bodies for the...

That boss was pretty great, my pick for best in the series would probably be the second Ghirahim fight though.

Breath of the Wild What if Zelda U had an ingame journal / log?

I'm not sure I like this idea. Whenever I play games that have those (Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XIII come to mind) I find myself just clicking through those to get rid of the little notifications. Something more like the Bombers' Notebook might be a good way to go though.

    The City in the Sky

The Palace of Winds was by far my least favorite dungeon in The Minish Cap.
  42. Jeffers

    The City in the Sky

That's a great question; his dungeon analyses were what got me into this site. They were great, although I happen to disagree with him on a lot of the Skyward Sword stuff.
  43. Jeffers

    Lanayru Gorge Theory

That's possible as well. The Gamecube version of TP is the one I played, and also the one with the canonical map, so that's the one I was referring to. Probably should've mentioned that earlier.

    The City in the Sky

I think I'd have to say Armogohma was the worst boss in TP for me. Evil Eagle itself was okay, but I absolutely hated that dungeon.
  48. Jeffers

    The City in the Sky

Really? I must have missed that. I've seen people referring to it as a female but I didn't think that was canon so I wasn't sure. Apparently it was not only non canon but also incorrect.

    The City in the Sky

I always wondered if the people who stayed in Skyloft after the end of SS eventually bred with the Loftwings to produce the Oocca.
  50. Jeffers

    The City in the Sky

The concept of it is really cool, and it's a cool-looking place for sure. The gameplay aspect of it is sub-par in my opinion. I think I'd say the same of the Palace of Twilight. As for the music, I didn't think it was all that good, but there are definitely way worse dungeon themes.
