I looked up WAY to much, I looked up how to get through turtle rock and palace of darkness, ALL the master ore (except for scull woods), Pegasus boots, heart pieces, maiamais, treacherous tower, and bottles. I'm SO CLOSE to 100% (dang you 999 second second challenge)

I agree with shadow blade that the developers just picked it probably because they wanted you to have to wait to enter the desert temple

another thing they could do is have like some sort of master plan that the enemy has that is activated on a certain day and if you don't get it done in time then you have to do some thing extra. I like Idea of getting items from mini-dungeon in specific seasons but I think what they should do...

another reason could be that he was given the items by Hilda for her plan to take the triforce but ravio being a coward and not liking her plan he snuck off with them to try and find hyrule's hero and give it to him and he figured he could make some money at the same time

I think maybe that when the lorule triforce was destroyed maybe the virtues got replaced with cowardice ignorance and weakness (although weakness doesn't really fit with yuga so I think it might be lust)

one thing to consider is that in skyward sword they show demise breaking through a crack in the earth it may be that shadow and earth are connected because the evil originated from the earth.

I don't remember my time but i did find a way to cheat when the you start go straight through the crack to lorule then warp to skull woods go out and use the nearest crack to get back to hyrule then run to the finish line.

don't really know how much I got but I know I got a lot my biggest source of rupees was the tree behind the blacksmiths house.

2 reasons 1:the more likely reason is that he had no idea what the eastern palace was like so he just got something 2:you can stun enemies with the sand rod so he might have gotten it so he could stun all the enemies in the dungeon.

I wish they had things that happen after you beat the main story like special dungeons that they only allow you to go in when your a "true hero" and stuff like that.
