It appears from other reviews that Skyward Sword didn't hit it out of the park either. I think we're at a three way tie here between Batman, Zelda, and Skyrim, and possibly Portal 2 if you must ask.

Guess what, Skyrim didn't hit it out of the park. I think we have our winner. Skyward Sword, followed closely by Batman or Portal 2. Unless (and I don't think this is likely) that Assassins Creed just absolutely smashes it, but it won't.

There is no word of any sages in this game, and no, Ocarina of Time did not have Wind or Earth sages. Wind Waker had these sages though, and they powered up the Master Sword, which is what's happening in this game, but I don't think we'll be seeing any sages, but it remains a possibility.
