Finally another forumer who gets the point I'm trying to make. I think this whole topic should be addressed by the Zelda community as a whole. People have always been talking about that 'certain feeling' that OOT had, which later Zelda games seemed to lack. I think the point made in this topic...
Fire Temple: The Gorons weren't there voluntarily.
Spirit Temple: Nabooru couldn't get past the first room. She didn't fit through the hole and couldn't go to the right either because of the block. The Temple was used as a home by the two witches however, but those were evil, which makes sense...
I'm happy I'm not the only one who considers this to be a missed opportunity.
MM is another example. The game wouldn't be that great if the dungeons were put as follows:
- Woodfall Temple: Some deku: "Yeah the Gods want the Hero to collect all four Giants. In order to collect the first one...
Hello, I would like to talk about a topic that hasn't been addressed before within the Zelda community.
OOT's dungeons were truly dungeons. They felt like dangerous places that haven't been entered in decades of even longer. Hardly anyone truly knows what is inside of them. There may be...
Having Girahim as a main antagonist is not possible. He was merely the main antagonist's sword, an 'evil' Fi.
On topic:
It truly does not matter who the main antagonist will be, as long as he is a well-developed character, because that is what gamers really respond to.
Peace
I have been one of those people who stated in the past that Nintendo should have learnt from Okami BEFORE they released Skyward Sword.
Regarding the poll:
Skyward Sword is the best (action adventure) game ever made if you look at the dungeons.
Okami is the best (action adventure) game...
(EDIT: This post contains a less positive opinion on Skyward Sword. I'd like to start a discussion here. If you think you can't handle an alternate view or you think you are unable to type a well-argumented opinion, please do not read this)
Hi,
Anyone here remember those wonderful...
It is due to the dominant discourse about gaming, which is spread by "popular" and "professional" gaming websites. This discourse is based on several hidden assumptions like:
- "Realistic graphics is everything"
- "Nintendo games are not as good as the more realistic looking games"
- "Nintendo...
Yes, I agree with you that the context of the game matters and indeed SS's context was just that Link wanted to save Zelda. Further, in TP the items (fused shadow poarts + mirror pieces) were the only motivation for entering the dungeons and the dungeons were introduced only as 'a place in which...
Hi,
In many terms, OOT and MM are overwhelmed by many aspects of newer Zelda titles if you take away nostalgia from the equation.
But I think there is one thing that Nintendo could re-learn from these two games in particular and that is a dungeon-related element that hasn't been discussed...
My SS Review: Nintendo Should Not Have 'Ruined' Ghirahim
WARNING, in this review spoilers will be thrown around and should only be read by people who have finished the game or those who do not care about spoilers
This review is a long read. I know I am not officially a reviewer...
Most of the game market consists of buyers prefering graphics instead of story, plot and gameplay. It is only normal that these graphic-based games will get the rewards because of this. But it has nothing to do with any objective comparison of games based on objective analysis.
The fact that...
How is this possible? Games with great graffixs like Skyrim, Uncharted, Batman and Assasins Creed lost to Zelda? This is impossible! Zelda isn't even HD and it is kiddy!>:(
I'm sure it has something to do with Zelda fanboys being angry :S
^^
By the way, last week I bought Batman: Arkham City on PC, one of those games with the best graphics out there.
Summary, after 10 minutes of playing I didn't even notice the great graphics. The main story only took between 10 and 12 hours to beat and the sidequests weren't that long either, just...
I agree.
The existing discourse on the internet regarding Nintendo games is unbelievably messed up. And "popular and professional" gaming websites like the ones that organize Game Of The Year competitions endorse this discourse.
These websites highlight games that are mostly about graphics...
The funny part is that winning this contest doesn't mean SS will get G4TV's GOTY award. They could still give it to Skyrim regardless of what the outcome of this competition is.
Technically speaking Demise is the main antagonist. But Ghirahim was a way better character overall and this made me wonder why Nintendo didn't let Ghirahim be the main antagonist.
The same as before:
a great game but one that was just too much a wink to the past instead of having its own unique route, and also a game with some obvious flaws like the difficulty (waaaay too easy), inspirationless dungeon design and the plotchange from Zant to Ganondorf was poor.
Still a...
I am playing Batman Arkham city right now. It is a very good game.
But Skyward Sword is on a whole different level.
Let's try and get Zelda to beat Skyrim! (assuming this is even possible due to the G4TV's biasedness and possiblity of manipulating the score)
Is it me or is there something weird going on with that website. It's like 51-49 in Skyrims advantage is some kind of equilibrium score it flips back to again and again.
Seriously guys, who cares about avarage review scores these days. Objectively reviewing games based from a position of expertise has been replaced by a race between the many review-websites to get attention. Gamereviewing has become like parlemental politics.
The result? Avarage scores will...
SPOILER
I think Demises battle theme is actually Ganondorf's theme reversed, but I am not technical enough to reverse the song myself.
I am talking about this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jxAtQgP2Ek
I get your point.
Ofcourse the picture with the big pixels would be unaccepteble for a game like TP, but that isn't the case when you are playing the game on WII and if it would really be the case that pixels would be so obvious while playing (not while zooming in and entlarging), then ofcourse...
There are still grey spots around the Eldin Province. This color of grey is the same grey that was used for the unrevealed parts of other provinces. So there could still be parts of Eldin that aren't revealed, I think.
On-topic:
I like the Desert Province :) It looks like there are a lot...
Perhaps they do not yet want to reveal the name of the dragon too much.
I still suspect there will be three dragons in the game: Faron, Eldin and Lanayru.
I forgot about OOT indeed. It had two forest, fire and water dungeons. And you could even statew that the Botom of the Well and the child-part Spirit Temple were smaller same-themed dungeons as well.
I suspect that the Fire Sanctuary is not entered immediately after finishing the Earth Temple...
Okey, so you think that if Majora's Mask/Windwaker/etc would have had voice-acting, this would fit the style and athmosphere of the game and improve the game as a whole?
What matters is that the artstyle fits the overall athmosphere of the game. Windwaker would not be Windwaker if it would...
Oh excuse me, I thought you were willing to get into it 'with me'. Sorry man I didn't realize you weren't prepated for actual argumentation.
Have a nice evening:lol:
So Aunoma said it himself? Okey mate, then you're right.
Sorry.
What is the difference between a paralell world and an alternate reality? I believe we had a difference in terminology.
Greetz
Most epic trailer till now :D
Personally I don't think Volvagia will be in the game, since that must mean there will be a Goron with a hammer somehow intervening in the battle between Link and Volvagia and smashing the beast dead.
I don't see that happening, but who knows...
I don't think the game manual is to be taken that serious.
In the game itself you see link traveling in a forest (some people say it must be the lost woods without the game actually stating it's the lost woods) and later he falls into a deep hole and after that talks through a twisted corridor...
The reviewer is bad for distracting points for the limited capacity of the system it was released on. It has nothing to do with the game. It's like bashing Gears of War 3 for not having motion control, it doesn't make any sense.
Also, they didn't add any points, because if they would have done...
