If they did, I'd expect something along the lines of LAHD rather than anything purely 2D. It wouldn't make sense to develop a style like that as thoroughly as they did and throw it away. Though I guess Nintendo isn't exactly known for making decisions that make the most sense.
Super Mario RPG
Mm, I'd say Mario RPG is a pretty alright game. I enjoyed myself well enough and it didn't overstay its welcome. I'm not sure it quite lived up to the hype for me, but I'm sure I'd appreciate it a bit more if I had some nostalgia for the game already. Either way, it was short...
The way Yakuza 3's box art went from a guy with a cig staring up in a sort of moody way to half of a man's face staring blankly is certainly a decision of all time.
At the tail end of Mario RPG, two stars to go. Should be finished with it tonight or tomorrow.
Got Twilight Princess HD working well in Cemu, I think I'm in the mood for Zelda again. Probably will get to that next.
Kinda just depends. I have completed some games I ended up disliking just to say I finished 'em, like Skyward Sword for a Zelda example. Disliked that game a lot more after a full playthrough and will never touch it again. But I really didn't have the patience to slog through Hyrule again in...
I rarely find enough customizable options I like for males in full-on character creators to make it feel like a proper self-insert, so I usually opt for a female character designed however I like most like I do in MonHun or FF14.
If it comes down to two heavily pre-set designs like in FE, then...
I think a villain whose cunning is their power has a lot of potential. They may not have evil powers or anything spectacular, but their sheer force of will and intelligence lets them claim power in nearly every situation.
I think it could be argued the Kingdom of Hyrule has never really made a notable effort to act in its people's best interests either, to be fair.
The Divine Beasts exist because of the Sheikah, the Master Sword exists because of Hylia, etc. Most means of countering the evil in each game exists...
To be honest, the biggest takeaway from Zelda as a series is that Ganondorf would ultimately be a far more competent and effective ruler than the Kingdom of Hyrule has ever been, ethics aside.
Persona 4 Golden
Haven't binged a game like I did P4G in a long while. I think I really get the series' appeal now. It hits a lot of the right notes for me overall, and offers one of my favorite casts in any RPG I've played. If I had any gripes, it's that the dungeons were overall not great...
my health's at an all time low, family's falling apart, not that it was ever whole to begin with. and I'm really at a loss as to what to do or think.
I'm just so tired, man.
Nintendo's really under no pressure to pop out new tech as long as success is still up, and it still is as of now. No earlier than next year, I'd say. I do think it'll be in the first half of 2025, though.
