Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

Lol that's an interesting set up. I go with the hylian hood (down), archaic tunic (purple or red) and hylian trousers (black) Nice! I've seen that done a couple times on youtube. Mine was a house with the addition Zonai metal shrine blocks

Same here! I love it in this game. Even more so than I did in BotW. There's so much in the sky and the depths. All the worldbuilding is crazy. I've never wanted to engage with it as much as I have in TotK. Right? I'm a pretty creative person, but some of the things I've seen are pretty cool...

What were some of the things you liked most about the game?

TotK has only been out a little over a year, and outsold any other Zelda game outside BotW. Let people enjoy things that are still pretty fresh to them. It's like you're mad that people like something you don't

Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

Not in the ways that I find meaningful. I'd argue yes, because there's more to the world besides those challenges. The stuff I find meaningful is essentially everything that can be done in the world. Foraging for stones, climbing mountains to get a beautiful view, chopping down trees for...

Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

Depends on the person. Having an item at the end isn't really meaningful for me. It's the experience on the whole that I find meaningful. I'm I getting more of the world, more views, more places to explore, etc etc. That's the stuff I find meaningful. That kind of stuff wasn't there in the old...

This comes across as more of a lack of rewards you like, and less a lack of content.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what unfinished means, nor what objectively means. You're trying to apply a universal standard to the design of the game, and it just doesn't work. Have a good one though

Disagree. Oh well The amount of choices in the game are a lot closer to 1, than they are limitless. Even in the extreme cases. Lol not even close. As I said, those dungeons provided minimal storytelling. Outside of what you stated, that's about all there is to those temples. Devs were much...

If you aren't using the pieces to the puzzle, to complete the shrine, I'd say you are leaving the puzzle unfinished. Flip side is I can complete the puzzle, and leave the shrine without gaining the blessing. I do not look at the shrine and puzzle within it as one in the same.

And finish them by gaining the blessing at the end of the shrine. You are absolutely completing the shrine. If you choose to ignore the puzzle before completing the shrine, that is on you. You left it unfinished, not the devs. Many of the landscapes are so beautiful to look at depending on how...

You don't have to add your own rules though. There are already some in place. You just don't like how vague they are. I disagree. Having multiple choices/ways to complete something is not inherently a good or bad thing. In fact, it's a reflection of the real world. These games do a pretty good...

Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

But that doesn't mean we're designing the game though. Or it's objectively bad game design. Having multiple choices to complete something isn't objectively a bad thing. Nor is something not meaningful. The puzzle is still there though. If you choose to not engage with it and skip to the end...

That's not really any different from past Zelda games though. Find keys, unlock doors to boss, defeat and move on. Same thing, over and over. Both of us would be leaving out all the meat and focusing on the bones. Totk does give more freedom, but you're still working within the rules of the...

It'd be nice to get a bit more than "I don't like this, therefore it's bad" though

Never let other people's negativity discourage you from enjoying something. Especially if they won't even bother providing more context to why they don't like it. It's not worth it

It's not about winning or losing these discussions. What I want out of people is more in depth answers, especially if you're going to bash something. You did none of that though. You provided no context to any of your criticisms though. I guess if other people are like that, they can empathize...

Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

This doesn't answer my question. There are many games that are easier than Zelda. That doesn't mean we designed those games. Easy does not equal unfinished either. But yes, easy can be less fun or challenging. That's a totally different argument from the one you're trying to make though...

Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

So if there were less choices, things would be more meaningful? I don't really see how having choices equals us designing the game though. All games are repetitive. For sure some more than others, but especially true for Zelda. I'd argue BotW/TotK are less repetitive than the vast majority of...

Tears of the Kingdom this rivals some of the worst games i've ever played; and i'm a life-long zelda fan

Correct me if im wrong, but the puzzles aren't the entire game, are they? They also have intended ways to solve them, right? That's interesting. My experience was different. I used all the abilities I gained to solve the puzzles. It never felt like I used one ability. Yes, there were a lot of...

What about the game makes you think that was the devs intent though? What was unfinished about it?

What do you mean by nothing and empty? As in rewarding item wise? Did you not use some form of light to guide you in the depths? The only way I can see not being able to see things is when you aren't using all the resources you're given. What kind of structures and machines were you making...
