I don't think there's any world where I'd prefer motion controls over standard button stuff in a third person game, especially with the Switch's primitive gyro motion controls.
Well, that's what they've been doing for decades now. Zelda has always been a series of incredibly disconnected games. Even the direct sequels try their hardest not to be.
Might I recommend checking your controller? I don't recall having any significant issues with the game's controls. Heck, it felt to me like controlling Link was more precise in BotW, since stuff like jumping used to be automatic half the time.
The real question is will the next Nintendo console have betters specs than the Steam Deck, a portable gaming PC that can run modern PC games and that will currently cost you $350? :eyes:
Turret sections are one of those trends from the seventh generation of gaming that seemingly came and went alongside the brown cover shooters with chest high walls and chonky space marines. Video games that were previously high (or at least medium-well) energy would come to a halt, freeze the...
I guess in terms of pure collectability, but it doesn't feel good from a content and price point perspective. It's asking players spend $60 on a gussied up GameCube game with a fancy hat. I'm sure people will, because Nintendo, but I'd still point to emulation as a superior option.
Nintendo...
So I'm taking that Pokemon Z announcement as a sign that the Switch U is heading for some sort of release next year maybe. I'm basing this mostly on how bad all the open world games on the Switch have looked even though the system can run Breath of the Wild, so they're probably waiting to show...
I finally got a washer working in my apartment. It's a slightly smaller one that has to hook up to the kitchen faucet, but it works. Man, I miss the luxury of living on a barracks or a dorm and just having a laundry room down the hall.
...now I need a dryer. Probably should have thought about...
I love the idea of fighting games. Seeing skilled fighting game players in action is like seeing people gaming on a level that I just can't attain.
And that's why there are story modes so people like me can beat up CPUs. \o/
I guess I sort of see it as self-evident. I'm not a fan of Ganondorf just being a hat you can pass from one nameless villain to another and expect it to hold any sort of weight. If it isn't the same Ganon then it takes away from the weight of a perpetually regenerating ball of hate.
Probably Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring, or Undertale. As much as I like the franchise I don't think anything Zelda-related can quite match those games in my mind.
While I'm not going to deny one's preference for a particular era of games, the gaming remake is t super new. We've seen it before with stuff like Mario and the Resident Evil 1 remake.
Helldivers 2 has been one of a few games absolutely consuming my idle gaming hours. It's the satirical hyper-fascism of the first Starship Troopers film in video game form. It's the ODST that Halo never gave us.
9.5/10.
I rewatched Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 1. It's the big DC retcon event, but finally in animated form. It's being split into three movies and I... was surprised how much I enjoyed the first part. Spitting it into three might actually give them enough time to not make it feel super rushed.
Hey, so I actually... really liked this adaptation. I still question its necessity, but I had a lot of fun with it. Most people are well cast and the special effects are (mostly) pretty good. And man, they really took advantage of not having to hide the violence off screen.
As long as they need to be.
I don't really think there should be a standard length or format to a dungeon. Knowing ahead of time the layout and how long it'll take to beat kind of takes away from the danger and the mystery of it all. If they're all about the same length and g through the same...
Alive, but mostly unused. Most of my movie watching and game playing tends to happen on my PC, so the TV is mostly switched on for the occasion PS5/4 game.
Well, I'd like the game to get more time in the oven. The Switch Pokemon games have made a good case for why these games being an annual franchise is not a good idea. Absolute technical ****ery of stuff like Scarlet/Violet and Sword/Shield is 90% of the reason I skipped those games. There's no...
Definitely the Sega Nomad. It was an official portable Sega Genesis before homemade portable conversions were cool. You could even hook it up to a TV, plug a controller in, and treat it like a regular Genesis.
It's the Zelda way. In ten years we're going to see a bunch of discussion wondering if the Blimkin species from Balloons of Eternity is actually the Zonai after they shapeshift into a bunch of penguins.
Nothing has changed, but Microsoft themselves indicated during the Activision merger hearings that they may leave the console business in 2027 if system sales and Gamepass subscriptions did not significantly increase.
So far neither number has budged much.
It might mean someone else finally stepping into the console sphere and not dying. It's been a Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony race for so long that it's easy to forget it hasn't always been so.
In the years and months leading up to the release of Starfield there existed a vague buzzword whispered across social media platforms: game of the generation. It was not only mentioned when describing what Starfield would be like if it were the "game of the generation", but what it would be like...
It isn't too surprising. Back during the merger hearings when Microsoft decided it was going to buy Activision they indicated that they would likely leave the console business if console sales and gamepass subscriptions didn't improve by 2027. Since neither seems to have really happened, it...
This is true. I'd make exceptions for stuff like TP and OoT, but in something like TotK there's seemingly a five-ish year gap where not much has happened.
For her to play a real role in the plot and not just be a victim.
But I also think it would be cool to see a Zelda written in a way that more realistically aligns with monarchies. Emphasize the class difference between her and Link and make it intrinsic to their plot and their dynamic.
Also...
No, since there's nothing in game to suggest that happened. Considering that Sonia's only contribution to the plot was being the first to die she'd make for a terrible demigod.
And since TotK established that dragons come about from mortals eating their secret stone things there isn't anything...
I think it depends on whether Metroid Prime 4 has been quietly canceled or not. If it hasn't then I'd expect Prime 4. If it has then I'd expect some version of Prime 2. A remaster isn't exactly a hot ticket item, but it's something to put on the shelf.
I also wouldn't be surprised by $60 ports...
I question the necessity of it.
The show looks okay so far based on the trailers, but the original show is still eminently watchable. If you throw on an episode of early ATLA then your first complaint is likely to be the aspect ratio, since it was just old enough to make the jump from 4:3 to...
The theory's basis has been stuff like "they're the same age" and "they both have blonde hair". I understand it pretty well and, yes, I will scrutinize it. It might make for alright fanfiction, but it's got about as much evidence backing it as the idea that Fado is Link's long lost sister whose...
I don't get your logic, man. None of that was evidence for the incest siblings, because none of the things brought up in that post at all suggest any sort of familial relationship. It'd be like if I presented you a Gatorade bottle and said it was proof that Barack Obama is my father. Me pointing...
Doesn't at least one official manga adaptation suggest and then never follow through on a romantic connection between those iterations of Link and Zelda? That feels like a heck of a detail to include if the intention was for them to be siblings.
