friend, i saw your front page post for linktober! i wanted to comment on the issues you mentioned about your tablet at the end of the post so you can investigste these. for the input lag, in my experience, its usually the software. are you using a stabilizer at all? the more aggressive the stabilizer setting, the more the pen will lag because the program is going back and trying to smooth your stroke.
the second thing is hecka common and isnt something you'll escape with a different tablet apparently. ive seen so many memes about this problem that i think its just a widespread digital artist woe. but anyway, brush dynamics breaking is usually a problem with the tablet driver stopping working. you might have to look up what yours is called but there should be a service in the service manager for the tablet driver that you can restart and it should start workkng again. restarting the computer usually fixes it too.
hopefully this helps you get things working to your liking
I usually leave the pen tool option on weighted. There is a distance setting and a stroke ending setting but I've always been afraid to mess with it because I don't want to mess it up. I did switch to basic though after reading this and there is no lag.
I didn't realize the pen calibration thing was common. That sucks lol. I have an app called Pentablet, and I think that is the tablet driver, I will look around it to see if it has a restart.
Thank you so much for the help, friend! uwu
