Sure. Not sure if I'm the best to answer this, so I asked David if he knew. He said Mases and Axel advertised the YouTube page hard core back in the day. That brought a lot of traffic to the page and the forum. So talking about the forums on a YouTube page with 120,000 subscribers would be a good idea.

My question is about the content of the page. While I thought the marathon was cool, the talks with Mases were less than interesting. I noticed that when Bastian was on the page, he garnered a lot of views. Like 9,000. Pretty good for the page. At the same time, I wasn't impressed with his videos either. ZD YouTube needs a passionate, charismatic personality who keeps people coming.
