How'd you go about it? I learned the hard way that he can damage you even through a Quen shield..

I used quen to lessen his damage then set a yrden up, not the circle but the zappy one. When he comes close and gets hit with that it stuns him so he cant move and then I used a stream of igni on him when he was stunned and repeated that process.

Do you use Axii much out of curiosity? It's a lifesaver in 1-1 battles.

Rarely in combat. If I find Alghouls I use it so they put their spines away.

Tip: Superior Petri's Philter + Level 3 Aard Sweep + Piercing Cold mutation (from Blood and Wine). You can instakill so many enemies with that.

I'll have to bear that in mind. I havent levelled up aard yet.
