I know how you feel. I’m someone who avoids cheating or glitches but the way you did it was just a creative way.
I usually play through a game (especially a zelda title) blind. Just play through taking in the story then restarting using a guide for the collectibles so That I don’t miss anything.

I’ve not seen a lot of anime but my favourite has to be Deathnote purely because an old friend introduced it to me as i was studying criminology at the time so it was interesting to see Light’s personality change throughout. Really got into it and loved every second
They just announced a hylian shield version of the 2ds xl. Why not go for that? Looks ideal for what you want it for but also could possibly have the collector value too
It’s gotta be my Gameboy Advance SP as it’s the one system I keep coming back to play minish cap and the oracle games. But the 3ds xl is a close second as you can play nearly all the zelda games
