I believe the reason we keep repeating the same things is that we all have a different definition for "Dungeons".
For me, a dungeon is a level based area which contains puzzles, combat, and maybe a boss. I have a flexible way of interpreting dungeons, so I am able to accept BotW's...
It's impossible to say what Nintendo will do in the future. Don't lose hope for Nintendo re-adding dungeons! The Zelda series has had a good track record when it comes to listening to fans.
I agree with BlueBird. Dungeons were untraditional but still existed in the form of Shrines/Divine...
If we go to Hatano Beach on the BotW Object Map then we see that the only monster encampment is this one. Seems like it is a tree encampment, but not an empty one like I assumed.
Maybe CrazedCuccu is looking in the wrong location? It's impossible to help unless we get some feedback.

A good example of a tree fort without enemies is found on the road between Twin Stables and The Great Plateau. I believe they are meant to be shelters for the...
Bouncing off of that idea, I hope that Nintendo also adds the ability to buy keys.
I know that sounds broken, but if the keys are expensive (and in this case one time use) then it would be a balanced way of letting the player progress even when they're stumped on a puzzle. This also means that...
My word, you've put to words what I haven't been able to explain to myself for the last year! :D
I think it comes down to item progression as well since BotW doesn't allow the player to find items in the overworld that unlock new abilities or make new areas accessible (yah know, cause all the...
I forgot about the Zelda 1-BotW demo! I hope they release that as a stand-alone game someday. :D
I like to think that BotW was the spiritual successor in some ways, but not in EVERY way.
(Ex. Item Progression, Dungeons, and Restrictive Overworld exploration are all different between the two...
