LA itself is a lot less nice than a lot of the surrounding cities (and the public transit system is awful). Glad you found fun stuff to do in Santa Monica and Long Beach.
The Joshua Tree and the Grand Canyon are both nice national parks too, sounds like a good trip.
I've had chicken feet, which really just tasted like chicken wings but more annoying to eat.
I've also had rattlesnake and rabbit sausage, which was tasty.
My brother made a gooseberry pie last year, which was pretty interesting. They taste kind of like lemony grapes.
I like variety, so I'm a fan of trying new things so long as they sound good. I will sometimes settle on getting the same thing or handful of things at certain restaurants, but I do like to branch out more often than not when there are interesting options available.
I don't play it actively these days but I've played Magic: the Gathering since like 2001.
I don't really actively play Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh but I have my old cards for both.
I was into Star Wars Destiny briefly. I've got some pre-built Flesh and Blood decks but I haven't tried the game yet...
I usually prefer to binge, but I am fond of mostly binging something with a plot and then saving the final episode or two to watch weekly so you can speculate with others before it's released and watch the finale right when it comes out.
I used to switch between left and right side pretty freely but I read that the left side is better for acid reflux so I almost always sleep on my left side now.
I prefer wired generally because I don't have to worry about batteries and connection issues, but if I'm moving around listening to something or want to control a computer from the couch, wireless peripherals are nice.
