I loved getting the Triforce charts, like doing the Savage Labyrinth, going to the Private Oasis and whatnot but actually GETTING the shards was boring.
Did you use the Wind Waker to change the wind direction to south? I'm sure I did this once or twice in the original GC version, and it was because I'd forgotten to change wind direction. Otherwise I'm afraid I can't think what the problem is.
In the past year or so I've started doing that, instead of using the sword to chop their stalks and/or slice their mouths. It's kinda funny when I place a bomb in front of two Dekus side-by-side, one of them eats it then the bomb explodes causing it to instantly explode and the other to fly off...

Wind Waker was my first Zelda game, bought it in Toys R Us just after it came out in 2003 after seeing a review in ONM. I would have been about 24/25. (Yeah, most of my youth was playing Mario, Banjo Kazooie, and Donkey Kong games.)
I can complete Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword 100% without a guide. I'm the sort of player that uses a guide for the first few playthroughs until I can remember where everything is; as I play it more I use a guide less until I don't need it and all the game's information is stored in my memory.
